The Mirror is the World's most popular double handed sailing dinghy, With its low price, light and seaworthy design that is easy to sail, the Mirror quickly achieved its objectives, becoming the World's most popular double handed sailing dinghy. Probably responsible for introducing more people to the delights of sailing than any other design, some have even gone onto win Olympic medals, the latest being Paul Goodison taking Gold in China. The Mirror is a real proper little boat, with its deep 'sit-in' cockpit, that inspires confidence for sailors of all ages and abilities, easy to sail but a challenge to sail well. In 2008 the Mirror is just as relevant and popular as ever, with regular updates to keep the class modern and fresh.

Day 1 - 2011 Mirror Worlds

Finally the 2011 Worlds began in a strong breeze of 18-22 knots with gusts up to 30 knots presenting challenges for the entire fleet in Albany, Australia.

Austalians Paul Taylor and son Austin win Pre-Worlds

The pre worlds finshed yesterday with Austalians Paul Taylor and son Austin coming first ahead of fellow Australians Lachlan Gilbert and son Finn second. In third place were Philippine sailors Ridgely Balladares and Rommel Chavez. Two days of 15 to 23 knot winds followed by around 7 to 8 knots on day three.

Australian Championships

The 45th Australian Championships kicked off with the Cliff Scott Memorial Invitational, the traditional warm up of the Mirror fleet and a precursor to the forthcoming 2011 Worlds. In fresh SSE conditions, the fleet got racing and all the nerves and anxiety are now gone.

Countdown to 2011 Worlds

Entries are flooding in, and some exciting news from the organisers, withour first Asian entries with 2 boats from the Phiippines signing up. Great to see new countries coming on board.

EUROPEAN MIRROR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010

The 2010 Mirror European Championship will be held at Sligo Yacht Club which is located at Rosses Point, County Sligo in the Northwest of Southern Ireland. The event runs from Saturday 14th August to Friday 20th August, 2010.
