By train

There are frequent trains from London Waterloo to Southampton Central which take approximatly 1hr 20mins journey time. From Southampton Central you can catch the FREE bus service that runs every 15mins from outside the station that takes you to the Red Funnel Hi Speed ferry service at Town Quay.

Ferry

We would suggest the ferry services from Southampton to West Cowes operated by Red Funnel as it's terminal in West Cowes is 15 minute walk from the Academy. The Hi-Speed Red Jet to West Cowes operates every 30 minutes with a journey time of approximatly 23 minutes.

Wightlink also operate a hi speed Fast Cat ferry foot passenger service from Portsmouth to Ryde which takes approximately 18 minutes journey time. From there you can travel to UKSA via taxi or use the Southern Vectis bus service which runs approximatly every 10 minutes to Newport, from there you catch the bus to Cowes which also run approximatly every 10 minutes.

By car

For those bringing a vehicle, there is a Red Funnel car ferry that goes to East Cowes with a journey time of about 1hr. On arrival in East Cowes you can take the "floating bridge" chain ferry for vehicles and passengers to West Cowes which takes approximatly 5 minutes.

Wightlink offer two car ferry services to the Island. The first is from Portsmouth to Fishbourne (near Ryde) which has a journey time of around 40 minutes. The second being the Lymington to Yarmouth (West Wight) which takes approximatly 30 minutes journey time.
