Bike Market Sales Manager

As a result of Factory Media’s expansion we are recruiting for an experienced sales person to lead the advertising sell across the bike market. The role will offer responsibility for the online and print revenue streams across the company for our bike brands – Dirt MTB, Road Cycling UK, Bike Magic, Ride UK BMX, Dig BMX, BMX Talk, Moto, MX Trax and the broader MPORA platform – and a team of 5 people.

You will:
• Deliver the annual advertising strategy for the Bike market to optimise print and online revenues
• Effectively communicate Factory Media’s development plan and ambitions in both online and print to benefit the Bike market
• Develop Magazine advertising revenues through appropriate mailing, telephone and face to face marketing of the product to:
1. Clients who advertise but don’t currently do any business with us
2. Clients where we can grow our market share of their ad business
3. Clients who don’t advertise in the market at all
• Ensure the database of existing and prospective advertisers with brands, contact names, mailing address, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, websites etc are kept up to date by the teams at all times
• keep all sales ledgers up to date
• Deliver weekly Factory Media sales reports including prospects, bookings, meetings made and meetings coming up
• Service all clients to the maximum industry standards
• Monitor call and meeting rates to achieve the required results
• Represent Factory Media at all appropriate trade events
• Ensure editorial plans developed by the Editors are used to sell in future issues
• Over achieve average yield targets
• Ensure all print advertising sales have an online component
• Keep respective media kits up to date
• Coach staff
• Run weekly team meetings

Required Skills:
• 3-4 years media sales experience
• A good understanding of the cycle market
• The ability to drive online ad revenues
• The ability to manage and motivate a team
• Proven track record in identifying and building new opportunities

Ad Ops Manager

Factory Media require an Ad Ops manager to manage our portfolio of action sports websites. You will work with our internal sales team to ensure efficient ad serving, increase revenues through the development of new formats and provide accurate and meaningful reporting to the whole business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with web analytics and ad serving platforms, ideally you will have agency experience and will have managed over 10 web properties.

You Will:
● Deliver scheduled reports to the sales team, identifying inventory and shortages
● Ensure accurate tracking, detailed testing and accurate configuration of all ad formats
● Work with our search team to drive traffic to sites where we are short on inventory
● Work with development and editorial to ensure we do not over serve house ads
● Ensure all ads running on the network meet our guidelines and have been tested
● Develop new ad formats that do not negatively impact the user experience
● Work with the sales team to ensure all bookings are recorded and taken into account when producing inventory reports
● Drive traffic to new sites/products/promotions with using available inventory
● Manage the design and development of microsites and site take overs
● Record all ad serving issues with details of issue, impact and volume
● Manage and train Ad Ops assistants and provide training to the wider business
● Manage and optimise all campaigns across the network
● Work with the sales team to deliver optimal pitches to make best use of inventory

Required Skills:
● Expert knowledge of ad serving platforms including adtech.
● A strong understanding of web analytics packages, ideally you have taken Analytics IQ exam and have extensive experience with Google analytics
● JavaScript, HTML and cookie tracking – you should also be able to debug issues
● A strong understanding of Video formats and Video ad serving.
● Experience of mobile web ad serving, in app ad serving and responsive layouts

Head of Market – Snow

Factory Media require a Head of Market to manage a portfolio of 4-5 our 24 niche sports brands. You will manage a team of Editors based in UK/Europe across print and digital, you will need to work with the Editors remotely and be willing to travel when needed. Reporting to the Digital Director you will also work closely with the core team ( Ad Ops, Design, Development, Sales and Search).

You will:
● Track the performance of each brand including editorial efficiency, user engagement and traffic
● Develop training programs and material to improve the quality of editorial output
● Roll out best practice and improvements to our sites and publications
● Create and Develop new products, revenue streams and editorial opportunities
● Share experience and ideas with other Heads of Markets
● Identify opportunities for new brands, acquisitions, partnerships and territory expansion
● Transition high quality magazine content to digital platforms
● Secure exclusive content from key brands and content producers
● Integrate teams across brands to improve efficiencies and new teams from acquisitions
● Build an extensive freelance network to increase the depth and quantity of our editorial
● Manage and grow our social engagement and on site communities
● Develop events and content production across your portfolio

Required Skills:
● At least 3 years experience of working in a digital role
● Proven management and motivational success
● Evidence of editorial excellence resulting in traffic growth
● Social media and niche community experience
● In depth knowledge of Web Analytics and Data Analysis
● A strong understanding of online monetisation methods – CPM, CPC, CPA, Transactional
● A good understand of web standards and digital publishing platforms
● A good understanding of the importance of excellent content
● Market knowledge of winter sports
