RYA Day Skipper TheoryRYA Day SkipperNavigation & seamanship for the aspiring cruising skipper, sail or power. Taking a navigation and seamanship course like Day Skipper theory is great fun. We cover a lot of ground (water?) in five days, but having taught the course many, many times we have fine tuned the delivery to get the facts across in the most digestible form possible. See the syllabus tab to get a taste of the subjects covered. The course is quite broad and forms a sort of 'foundation course' in navigation & seamanship. Students who progress to Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore Theory will find that no new subjects are added to those studied at Day Skipper level, they simply go up a level in complexity. Many friendships are formed during our courses which see students going on to do their practical courses together with us or crewing on each other's yachts. Why choose Mustang Sailing for your Day Skipper Shorebased Theory course?Experienced instructors, we do this all year round. Small class sizes, maximum of 6 students to a Dayskipper theory course, plenty of individual attention - no getting left behind. Associated courses

TestimonialsThe training centre was clean, well organised with good tea and coffee making facilities, fridges and snacks and very good teaching aids. Being on a farm made it a very quiet and relaxing environment in which to learn. The theory element of the course, was excellent. I cannot remember when I learnt so much in so short a time.Simon, April 2011 The theory element of the course was well taught by experienced instructors who know and love their subjects. Their passion for sailing and enthusiasm to teach really comes across well and enabled me to take the most away from the theory course possible.Paul, May 2011 Excellent course - loved the pace and atmosphere of trainer and the aids usedJohn Paul Q. Very effective instruction on a course with a lot of detailNeil H. |
