Companies like Skandia are known as ‘product providers’. There are various ways you can invest, such as pensions, ISAs and bonds, and protection products such as life insurance. We offer all of these products.
Another industry term used to describe investment products is ‘wrappers’ or ‘tax wrappers’. That’s because they are used to hold the assets you are investing in – usually in a way that gives tax advantages.
We don’t sell or promote our products directly to customers. Instead, we deal only through financial advisers. That’s because we believe that their expertise will increase our customers’ chances of achieving their goals.
Your financial adviser will be able to recommend which products are suitable for you and what funds to hold in them once they have completed a full assessment of your personal objectives and your attitude to risk. (See ‘Investing the Skandia way’).
