Support Boats
Jubilee has been taken out of comission for an engine replacement fitting, although this shouldn't take too long ,it will mean she is not available for support duties until the completion of sea trials and therefore, on satisfaction of those trials it it expected she will be back in comission by the 17th August by the latest. I will of course update you should this date change. Until Jubilee's return the Rubber Ducks will perform as support boats; both up and ready on the west racks for such duties.I will ensure these are fueled and ready to go throughout this period, Grab bags with kill cords and with security padlock key attached are hanging on a hook inside the race office for your collection. ( one benefit beening ; no need to launch the tender and rowing out.) My thanks to Tim Wright and Mike Wilkinson for assisting in the lifting out of Jubillee today; 6th August. She is a heavy boat to recover ashore and Mike's powerful vehicle made life simple. I don't wish to bore you but I will be posting the operating instructions of the new engine in the near future.

Club Dinghies
The club has acquired a Solo dinghy for the use of members. She is available for racing or casual sailing and will best suit sailors of 11 stone and above. She is designed to be sailed as a single-hander, if you wish to take out a crew than the Laser-2 is the best bet. A diary will be put by the bar for booking these the club boats. It is suggested that bookings be made no more than a week in advance. If you can’t get to the club to make a booking, we have an on-line solution; please phone the club on Friday night and ask somebody to check for you. Currently there is no charge, but this is under review. We are looking forward to seeing the boats out on the water. For reference, we now have Toppers, the Laser 2 and the Solo for the use of members.

TOPER MATCH RACES
Saturday 9th June - Race Report
At the start we had 6 boats on the water but various gear damage reduced the number of sea worthy boats. Some of the lighter helms found the blustery conditions too much and had trouble staying upright or staying in the boats. The planned first rounds were rapidly rearranged and some order was established by Tim and Simon on the start boat with John Gaynor helping with the recovery of broken boats.
As the race were completed Michael Leftley was the best of the cadets and the overall winner was John Charles.
Thanks to all those who helped run the event and the cooking team with the BBQ.
