Paralympic sailing continues to grow with the introduction of a new strictly one-design class, the SKUD-18, which made its first Paralympic appearance at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing.

Sailed by two disabled crew, with at least one female on board, the SKUD-18 is designed with the 49er skiff in mind. The SKUD-18 boat was an exciting addition to Paralympic competiton having made its European regatta debut at the 2006 Skandia Sail for Gold regatta.
