The Tanzanian government has announced that it is in the process of transforming the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) into a fully fledged Tourism Authority that will be in charge of the commercial and management aspect of tourism in the country. The Minister for Tourism and Natural Resources, Khamis Kagasheki, said the authority would be responsible for marketing Tanzania as a destination while also managing tourism products, such as the Ngorongoro Conservation and Tanzania National Parks. He said: “With an authority to run things, I believe tourism is one area that can do wonders, if well managed.”
