Cruising in the Malin Waters
MalinWaters has launched a new website.
For anyone considering a cruise in the Malin Waters they may want to
check out the MalinWaters new website.
The website was launched in summer 2011 by Donegal County Council and
its project partners to promote marine tourism in the region and
inspired by the unique marine diversity that covers the shared maritime
waters of North West Ireland, Northern Ireland and Western Scotland.
For
those of you that have cruised these waters you will know that they
embrace an area exceptionally rich in stunning landscapes; nature and
wildlife, history and culture - where the Gaelic language is still the
first tongue of several coastal and island communities.
The
website aims to showcase the region by providing quality information
for cruisers on marinas, moorings, suggested itineraries, weather,
activities and activity providers available in the area. The site is
constantly refreshed with the most up-to-date and relevant information
available.
Undoubtedly one of the most exciting things
taking place in the region during the summer of 2012 will be the Clipper
homecoming maritime festival in Derry/Londonderry.
The
Clipper Round The World Yacht Race fleet will race across the Atlantic
at break-neck speed on its homecoming leg from Nova Scotia, arriving in
Derry/Londonderry in early July 2012.
It will be welcomed by a
four day maritime festival to celebrate the arrival of the world’s
longest race to the shores of Lough Foyle. This is an opportunity to be
inspired by the endeavour of the crew and take part in the celebrations
to welcome to Northern Ireland yacht crews from around the world.
Keep an eye out on www.malinwaters.com/clipper for further details.
MalinWaters is the consumer brand of the Sail West Project which is
part financed by the European Union’s European Regional Development Fund
through the INTERREG IVA Cross-border Programme managed by the Special
EU Programmes Body.
