Is McDonald’s a luxury? Well surely. That indescribable smell of fries while you’re close to one, the super cheap meals…(one of my favorites are the grilled chicken chipotle wraps). When you have just left a party or bar a little too drunk, it would be hard to deny a box of chicken nuggets. And whenever you are in a different country, you get a sense of familiarity when you see that M logo. I swear I had the best burger in Italy at a Mcdonalds, where they put mozzarella cheese instead of regular.

My mother and I text quite often, now it’s gotten to the point where she sends me pics of food all day long. (ANNOYING, mom)…but then she also sends me pics of cool things too. She recently went to her friend’s daughter’s wedding, and they had a modern setup. My mom of course immediately sent me photos because she knew I’d be obsessed… I loved that there was no altar and the interior had a very sparse, industrial vibe to it…Turns out they held the ceremony at an abandoned flour factory or something? Anyway, I felt this familiar spark when I saw those bars with the paper on it, because I shoot on studio paper a lot, and the bride just pulled out this really long sheet of studio paper and wrote about how they met and fell in love. I really loved the way the whole thing was styled, it was original, and lighthanded..minimal… Who wants the fuss nowadays. If I get married ( but who’d want to put a rock on this nightmare?? ) I hope nobody knows about it until after it happens (okay okay I’ll text my parents the news but that’s about it)…

Just reading this entry and viewing these impeccably stylish photos of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy should tell you that you don’t need to keep up with trends or even go shopping for fall. The basics I assume will already be in your closet, and I love how CBK is comfortable with the familiar, the classic black coat and simple evening dresses. Still looking for ways to dress this coming fall and I can’t help but be swayed by the coolest lady ever. And I may have already posted some of these images before but you never get sick of perfection.

I don’t know about you but I’m very excited for fall. But knowing our current erratic weather, I feel like we might not even have a fall, we’ll just cut straight to winter. Anyway, this time around I made a few changes to a classic fall uniform that I can’t wait to do everyday. The key here is to either delete from, or maximize a classic. (more…)

So it’s after 7, you’ve had it with just about everyone and everything. You wonder, I’m going to have to repeat the same set of actions tomorrow, and just the thought of that may haunt you on your commute back home. If you are planning to have friends over for the night, that just may be the silver lining. Consumption of alcohol, fat, and cheap gossip. But can you really be bothered to entertain? Probably not… Well let that attitude be reflected in the way you serve dinner. Entertain like you don’t give a damn, like you’re trying to impress no one. (more…)
