I made several “wish lists” on my blog, but I really didn’t want for a single thing this year. My family and friends are happy and healthy, I’m engaged to a wonderful man and despite some recent behavioral issues (um, hello hissing at strangers), Luna brings us an indescribable amount of joy. That being said, I wouldn’t complain if any of these items made their way into my closet; especially since they all happen to be on sale.

The day after Christmas is always jolting. After a month-long buildup, the transition back to a normal routine seems so drastic and abrupt. We had a wonderful time this past weekend with our families; even if we did forget to have anything prepared for breakfast on Christmas morning. Our place was filled with people the whole weekend, and for the first time, it truly felt like we were home. The rest of our time was spent shopping (I found a great pair of flat boots), exploring unfamiliar parts of L.A. and finding new restaurants to call our own.

{Going for a walk outside once the rain finally stopped}
I battled a pretty nasty cold for the majority of this week, so my list of things currently making me happy is exceedingly simple. I’m finally feeling a bit better (though I’m still giving Rudolph a run for his money), just in time for a great big meal tonight that my dad and I will be making together. I can’t wait to spend the weekend with our families and enjoy our first Christmas in our new place. Have a fabulous weekend.
{The silver bell garland that’s hung along our fireplace}
{I love the Sgt. Pepper’s feel of my new Juicy jacket}
{California weather that actually felt like winter}
{Plenty of peppermint-flavored treats (like this taffy) to snack on}
