Try Sailing for FREE at Sutton SC! 

Sail for Gold Open Day on Saturday 14 July

Sutton Sailing Club invites you and your family to come to try sailing for FREE at the club’s Sail for Gold Open Day as part of the Sutton Community Games celebrations on Saturday 14 July!  

This fun-filled Open Day at this family friendly club at Powell’s Pool runs from 1pm until 5pm and is guaranteed to offer something for everyone.

Whether getting your first taste of sailing under the watchful eye of Royal Yachting Association (RYA) instructors or simply sampling the social side of what life at Sutton SC has to offer, the Sail for Gold Open Day doors are open to welcome everyone regardless of age, gender or experience. Just bring a change of clothes, soft-soled shoes and waterproofs and the club will supply everything else you need! Refreshments will be available from the clubhouse.

Sutton SC is a recognised RYA Training Centre, meaning it conforms to the highest standards of quality and safety in the world. It is the home of current junior Topper class World Champion and the 2011 RYA West Midlands Young Sailor of the Year, Matt Venables.

Sutton SC are enthusiastic participants in the RYA’s nationwide London 2012 initiative, Sail for Gold, celebrating Britain's unmatched Olympic sailing heritage and inspiring more people to get out on the water more regularly. Sail for Gold aims to bring the buzz of the Olympics as close as home to possible for everyone, wherever they live.
