Welcome to the BUSA website.

Hello and welcome to the new look BUSA website,

My name is Ed Morris and I've just finished studying Civil Engineering at Southampton University. I am the chairman of the BUSA committee until May 2013.

BUSA is the governing body for sailing within Higher Education establishments,.  It is affiliated and supported by the RYA and has British Universities and College Sport - BUCS recognition for it's events. BUSA is run for students by students our key focus is to provide the best competition and environment for sailing at university and college level.

During the academic year we work to further the sports standing within BUCS and oversee some fantastic competitions.  Competitions kick off in November, when the first BUCS points can be won at the dinghy fleet racing,  and culminate in a very busy Easter break with the Team racing and match racing finals as well as the yachting championships.

The Committee is made up of volunteers, and needs the continual support of its members to improve.  Firstly thanks must go to the committee of 2011-12 for a fantastic year and secondly, welcome and good luck  to the BUSA Committee of 2012-13. These guys are in their positions, to serve you and welcome your suggestions and feedback. you can contact them directly through the website or by contacting our full time secretary Jess Beecher.

Finally congratulations to last years champions and good luck to everyone, especially our teams representing us in national and international competitions.

Have a great year both on the water and in the lecture theatre; I hope to see you  on the race course during this season!

Ed Morris
