Shelley Jory-Leigh - Women in power, competing in a mans
world
As one of the United Kingdom’s leading powerboat racers and the
top female in the world, Shelley is well placed to talk as a woman
in power.
Recently she was selected to join a special team of 6 men
headed up by adventurer Alan Priddy to break the World
Circumnavigation Record in 2012. An 80ft aluminium purpose built
powerboat is being built and the team plan to do the 24,000 mile
journey in under 50 days - smashing the existing record of 60 days.
Anyone who has come to know The Lady Racer -Shelley will know that
she is looking for a world championship to add to her trophy
cabinet and will not stop until she gets it. A classic example of
Girl Power, she really is a woman in a mans world.

Sarah Donohue - An unbelievable journey – not to be
missed
A journey, a story that seems almost so
far-fetched that even a great writer couldn’t create anything so
exciting yet emotional that it leaves many of its audience
overwhelmed and many women in tears. Sarah takes you through her
journey of Powerboat racing, the longest standing female racer in
the World, having raced for 18 years taking European, British and
American National titles and even a speed record. She has worked in
Stunts in James Bond with Pearce Brosnan, and even with Angelina
Jolie & Pamela Anderson. Sarah died for 4 minutes in a
Powerboat crash, yet she stayed strong, carried on and won yet
another title 2 years on. Her spell on a life-support machine had
little effect on her love of the sea. She is now preparing for the
Cowes to Monte Carlo Powerboat race with the only all-female team
in the World and an amazing boat manufacturer who Sarah has admired
for many years.
