Etherow is a friendly club (when racing we experience good-natured rivalry!) and we welcome everyone: from those who may never have put their foot in a dinghy before, to Olympic team coach. Membership is inexpensive and we have some club boats that can be used, for a nominal charge, during the early stages. There are plenty of boats for sale within the club and elsewhere for very little money.

Fancy getting out on the water, harnessing the natural energy of the wind and have a great deal of fun? Well, now you can because we are about to run our annual sailing course/
We are having a free taster evening on Friday May 4th. That will be followed by a concentrated weekend of instruction on Saturday May 12th and Sunday May 13. After that we will continue on Friday evenings until the end of June.
Our experienced sailors will take you out in our two handed ‘Enterprise’ dinghies. You will learn the basic skills of sailing and by the end of the course you will be able to sail around a set course on the water. We teach up to the RYA's Level Two standard.
If you join of the course you will learn to crew, and helm, in Enterprise dinghies or Toppers. The cost of the course is under £50 for families, less for single people and a fraction of the price for juniors – which includes membership until the end of Club Membership year, November 2012.

Revamped Picture Page
We now have a much improved photographic section on this site and the way it has been designed means we have the ultimate capacity to provide hundreds it not thousands of images.
As we get under way with the new season, we will also be adding more videos to enable site visitors to enjoy the action on the water.
In addition, we have updated the events page with easier editing for those who have the job of updating it, and lots of pointers to what is happening in the coming months.
Race results will also be appearing on the site shortly.
