A fascinating booklet outlining Craigavon’s wonderful array of sights and scenery was launched at Craigavon Civic and Conference Centre recently.
The Craigavon Rural Heritage Trail has been specially designed to help residents and visitors alike tailor their own journey through Craigavon’s past and present. Containing eight unique village trails, the booklet explores the Sliotar in Aghacommon, Shane Hill in Bleary and Mill Row in Drumnacanvy to name but a few.
Providing an intriguing historical insight into various buildings, beauty spots and well known landmarks throughout Aghacommon, Aghagallon, Bleary, Dollingstown, Donaghcloney, Drumnacavny, Magheralin, Waringstown and Smaller Settlements, this booklet is a must for anyone looking to find out a little bit more about Craigavon’s wonderful history.
Welcoming the village, community and historical groups who all contributed to the guide was former Mayor of Craigavon Councillor Alan Carson who commented “This is a fantastic tool to help residents and visitors to the Borough find out more about Craigavon’s vibrant rural history and help them explore what our rural villages and settlements have to offer.”
Craigavon Rural Heritage Trail was funded by the Rural Development Programme and Craigavon Borough Council.
