Accessible Boating and Sailing
For many people, boating is more than a way of relaxing or
competitive tendencies, it's the chance to meet other people and
build bonds over common tasks regardless of individiual ability.
Boating is a team activity and well suited to this purpose.
There are a number of organisations who assist people with
abilities >
The Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST)
The
Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST), a registered charity that owns and
operates Lord Nelson and Tenacious. These are the only two
tall ships in the world designed and built to enable people of all
physical abilities to sail side-by-side as equals. Tall ship
sailing with the JST provides everyone the thrill and
adventure of life at sea and you can be involved in
almost every activity on board. Take the helm, set sails and keep
watch, all regardless of your physical ability and previous sailing
knowledge. You can sail from as little as 1 day in the Solent up to
30 days transatlantic. Anyone can sail with the Trust,
whether you are brand new to the sea, an experienced sailor,
disabled or able bodied. So what is stopping you, come and sail
with us! For more information, contact info@jst.org.uk or visit
