Marketing your club

Today’s leisure market is extremely competitive. Your club, like others, is competing against a wide range of leisure activities.

To help you the RYA has produced a Marketing and Communications Video Resource designed to provide you with advice and guidance on creating an environment within your club that

  • attracts and welcomes new members
  • encourages participation in club activities
  • nurtures personal progression and inclusion

all of which will help you to market your club and attract and retain members.

The Video Resource is spilt into the following four key topics:

Part 1:    Planning

Part 2:    Pathways

Part 3:    Communicating

Part 4:    Open Days

Promotion through your local media

The PR Toolkit provides information on how to make contacts with your local media, produce newsworthy press releases and other media related advice

Membership options

Providing different choices on how people use your club's facilities can help to grow your membership, for instance, pay and play or  different levels of membership.
