Sail Measurement 

The RYA Technical Department currently train Official measurers to certify sails in the UK as both RYA appointed sail measurers and inhouse official measurers as a part of the growing IHC scheme.

The ISAF Sail Measurers Course

The RYA Technical Department currently train official measurers to certify sails in the UK as both RYA appointed Sail measurers and inhouse official measurers as a part of the growing IHC scheme.   Each year the Technical Department run the ISAF Sail measurers course up and down the country in a variety of locations to add to the number of existing sail measurers and keep current sail measurers up to date on changes to the system. As of April 2012 it will also be mandatory for all of the RYA Class measurers to have attended a course in order to standardise sail measurement.

At least one course a year will be run in the following locations: Scotland, The North, The Midlands, London, Hampshire & Cornwall. As well as these courses it is possible to arrange a course specifically for your club provided there is sufficient demand.

Sail Measurers Help Tools

If you are a current sail measurer appointed by the RYA you can measurer and certify any sail belonging to a class that uses the term Official Measurer within their class rules sail section. In the downloads section of this page there is a list of classes that an RYA sail measurer may certify. If however there is any doubt please get in touch with the Technical department at the below contact details. 

Also for refrence the sail measurers hand out can be found in the downloads to the right, this is to be used for refrence for techniques that were tought on the sail measurers course you attended.
