Race Day 13 Morning Preview:
It’s Fab Friday! Just pray to the wind gods……
After lack of breeze scuppered any racing yesterday we are left with an intriguing 470 double-header today where both Britain’s men and women can win Olympic gold.
The British boys are guaranteed silver but they only want the big one! They go into the race four points behind the Aussies Mathew Belcher and Malcolm Page meaning they need to put one boat between them and their rivals. So even Britain 8th and Australia 10th would do just nicely for Luke and Stuart.
The girls meanwhile have definitely secured a medal and, because of the way points are calculated, are guaranteed at least silver if they can simply sail a clean race and not get disqualified. However, tied neck-and-neck at the top on 33 points with New Zealand gold is the target for Mills and Clark.
Sit back and enjoy!
