UKFFORC Season Starts at Stewartby

This weekend sees the first round of the UKFFORC RYA National Championship at Stewartby Watersports Club in Bedford.

The UK Formula Future Offshore Race Club is a fun club offering affordable powerboat racing to both Adults and Junior Racers. The championship boasts one of the 'greenest' fleets in the sport by running environmentally friendly engines in all 4 of their classes with racing starting as young as 9 years old.

The championship offers a variety of inland and offshore racing at several venues throughout the UK. The classes are designed to overlap so it is possible to drive in one class, whilst co-driving in another and creates a natural progression up through the sport as the competitors get older. The boats used are all production hulls and engines, making it possible to race on a low budget and by using one standard engine per class winning is all about driver ability!

Stewartby will be the first  of eight events scheduled throughout the summer and will see several new teams adding to the championship in their bid to become 2011 RYA National Champions.

After completing all their training  making their debuts racing this weekend are the following New racers to UKFFORC

Max Coleman in the S250 Class (S8)

Ben Jelf in the S250 Class (S4)

Steve Curtis a New Co-pilot in the F400 Class in F22
