Eurosaf Team Racing 2012 

Details of how the teams will be selected for the Eursaf European Open and Youth Team Racing and Eurosaf European Team Racing 2K Keelboat Championship 2012.

EUROSAF Open and Youth Team Racing European Championships

The EUROSAF Team Racing European Championships 2012 in West Kirby Sailing Club, Liverpool on the 21st -23rd September 2012.  The event will be sailed in Fireflies, provided by the host club.  We intend to select FOUR teams (2 Open, 2 Youth) to attend the event.

A team shall consist of six persons (three helms and three crews).  At least one team member must be female.  The ISAF rules of Nationality (ISAF regulations 7.13 &7.14, or any similar ISAF rules replacing them) will be adopted for this EUROSAF competition, unless changed in the NOR.  Youth sailors must be under 19 on the 31st December 2012 (born after 31st December 1993).  

The RYA will pay the entry fees for these teams.  You will be responsible for your own travel costs.  Teams are responsible for providing their own damage deposits.  

Eligibility:  All sailors must be full personal members of the RYA to apply.  You MUST include your membership number with your application.    

How to apply and Selection procedure: Only full teams will be considered with the completed application.  All crew members must send their full sailing CVs (it is essential to include your most recent Team Racing Results).  The team captain must submit a letter detailing why they should be given this opportunity to compete for Team GBR.  We intend to select the teams by the 15th August 2012.  

Selection will be determined by the RYA Team Racing Chairman, Jamie Marston, Jessica Beecher and Roger Wilson.  Selections will be based on Team Racing results and medal winning potential.    

EUROSAF Team Racing 2K Keelboat European Championship 2012    

We intend to select ONE team to attend the EUROSAF Team Racing 2K Keelboat European Championship 2012 in Bataviahaven Marine Regatta Centre, Lelystad, Netherlands on the 21st -23rd September 2012.  The event will be sailed in MX25s.  

A team shall consist of six persons in two boats (Each boat has one helm and two crews).  Each boat must have at least one team member who is female (please check NOR when published).  The ISAF rules of Nationality (ISAF regulations 7.13 &7.14, or any similar ISAF rules replacing them) will be adopted for this EUROSAF competition, unless changed in the NOR.  

The RYA will pay the entry fees for these teams and may support part of the travel costs for this event.
