The event in Plymouth is the first of 14 regional finals, with the national final at the Southampton Boat Show on 16 September.

Competing in two age groups (8-12 and13-16), this fiercely-contested challenge is all about who gets the fastest time on a course that also demands great skill and control. In previous years there have only been seconds separating the competitors!

Finalists will battle it out on the water for amazing prizes for their clubs. In the  8-12 age group, the championship winner receives an awesome Honwave T40 RIB with a Honda BF20 engine. In the 13-16 age group, the winner gets a fantastic 4.8m Ribcraft RIB with a Honda BF60 engine.

Last year, 12-year-old Harrison Faull and 16-year-old Ben Edwards blasted their way to championship glory for Parkstone Yacht Club and the Southern Region.
