RYA 29er Transition Training Squad Head Coach 

Can you support and advise a squad of GBR 29er young sailors and their parents?

The RYA is looking to contract a 29er Transition Training Squad Head Coach to oversee the World Class RYA Volvo 29er Transition Training Squad Programme for around 40 days per year, though fewer or additional days may be considered should this be more suitable to the right candidate.  

The RYA 29er Transition Training Squad Head Coach is responsible for delivering the RYA Volvo Transition Training Squad training programme which includes overseeing a squad of GBR 29er sailors, supporting and advising them and their parents as well as managing a team of assistant coaches. The RYA 29er Transition Training Squad Head Coach will be supported and managed by the RYA Double Handed Pathway Manager and supported by appointed RYA Performance Specialists including the RYA Physiologist, Physiotherapist, Sports Psychologist and Meteorology Specialist to maximise sailor development.  

The RYA 29er Transition Training Squad Head Coach should liaise closely with the RYA 29er National Youth Squad Head Coach, RYA Double Handed Pathway Manager, the UK 29er Class Association, Class Coordinator(s) and the RYA Youth Racing Senior Administrator. The RYA Transition Training Squad Head Coach's main responsibility is to deliver a well-planned and structured RYA Volvo 29er Transition Training Squad Programme to the standards agreed with the RYA Double Handed Pathway Manager and the 29er Class Steering Group such that as many sailors as possible progress to the RYA Volvo 29er National Youth Squad.
