  4. Non-profits connect individuals with the causes, issues and people that are important to them. At Facebook, we work to make the world more open and connected. Non-profits can use Facebook to educate supporters, inspire advocacy and put people at the center of the issues they care about most.

  6. Photo: Did you know that today is World Ranger Day? The World Wildlife Fund launched this day in honor of rangers -- the men and women on the frontlines of conservation and some of the most important protectors of the world's natural and cultural treasures.

If you make your way to the WWF Facebook Page, you can send an e-postcard to tiger rangers, thanking them for their work to help stop wildlife crime. Check it out: http://on.fb.me/NklVIP
  7. I’m asking 1000 people to donate $29 for my 29th birthday. If I actually raise $29,000, I promise that I’ll do a birthday swim from Alcatraz to San Francisco.

  8. Photo: We love Direct Energy's "Reduce Your Use For Good" campaign.

Direct Energy is donating up to $100,000 (in $2,500 increments) to nonprofits to help them implement energy-saving changes to their operations and taking applications for these grants directly through their Facebook Page.

The grants can be used to help nonprofits purchase energy-efficient products or services that help reduce energy use. Pretty cool way to help your organization reduce energy use and direct savings to efforts that help you to further your mission.
