Dream win comes true for lucky couple

Lesley Palmer and her husband Robin from Swillington near Leeds are celebrating after matching six numbers in the Lotto draw on Saturday 9th June 2012.

The couple were oblivious to the fact that they were millionaires for six days following the Lotto draw. They only found out that they had won a £2,102,992 share of the jackpot when Lesley logged into her online Account following a dream that she had the night before about what she would do if she won Lotto.

Commenting on the win Lesley said: "I usually check my numbers online every Saturday but my eldest daughter and I had made plans to go out and buy Robin a new Sturgeon fish for Father's Day so I checked them a day earlier as I knew I wouldn't get chance the following day. I logged onto my Account and a 'congratulations' message from Camelot popped up saying that I had won a huge figure which I couldn't comprehend - I thought it was £2,000 at first so called my husband and two of my daughters but none of them picked up. Then my eldest daughter, Helen, came round and put the TV on to check. When she confirmed the numbers all of a sudden reality hit."

Robin comments: "I couldn't believe it when our daughter called to tell me that we'd won. I'm a natural worrier so I rushed home to be with my family. Lesley is taking it in her stride but I'm still in shock. Only the weekend before we'd been stuck in the house due to the floods in the area, waiting for a lift from our daughter to take us to the local working men's club for the evening - little did we know that we could have hired a helicopter!"

Despite winning the life-changing amount, Lesley and Robin have been continuing their lives as normal since their news, with Lesley even heading off to do her duties at Swillington Minors Sports & Social Club, the local working men's club in the village where she is president and director. She also heads up the Children's Treat section, which she runs to raise money for fun activities and day trips for local kids.

For Robin, who retired five weeks ago, the win is a belated retirement present. The couple are now looking forward to spending lots of quality time together starting with a week's holiday to Benidorm with their daughter and her husband, staying at their daughter's house.

Lesley and Robin have also decided to invest in an extension to incorporate an upstairs bathroom and a conservatory at their home. They also want to get a new drive and have their ancient asbestos garage removed before buying a new Peugeot, which will be the first new car the couple have ever had.
