Clean Sport ‘Live’ webinars

In preparation for London 2012 UK Anti-Doping is running Clean Sport ‘Live’ - a series of free webinars focusing on key areas of anti-doping. The online education sessions are a great opportunity for athletes who may be competing at the Olympic or Paralympic Games this summer, or for their coaches, support personnel and National Governing Bodies of Sport staff to refresh their knowledge and ask any questions directly to the Education team at UK Anti-Doping.

The programme of webinars will cover key topics such as checking your medications,
the risk with supplements and submitting your whereabouts. You can ask questions live or
via the ‘chat’ function at the bottom of your screen. If you have not undertaken a webinar we will be
on hand to help you get started.

To use the webinars you just need a computer with internet access to view the session and a phone line to call in on and hear the session. You can also use a web camera if you wish.

The programme of webinars includes:

  • Checking medication

An overview of how to check medication using Global DRO including checking common brands and individual ingredients, plus how to use the results.

  • Supplements

An outline of the risks associated with supplement use and ways to minimise these, as well as recent examples of athletes who have returned a positive test following supplements use.

  • ADAMS/Whereabouts

Chance to run through the new ADAMS system including how to submit quarterly whereabouts and the mechanisms for updating for athletes on the NRTP and their support staff.

  • Clean Sport – Workshop presentation

An overview of key areas of anti-doping including strict liability, checking medication, supplement risks, preparing for testing and anti-doping rule violations.
