With the onset of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games and performance and investment planning for future success in the Rio 2016 games and beyond already underway, high performance sport in the UK is certainly the place to be.

UK Sport, the nation’s high performance agency, is looking to appoint a new Director of Finance and Investment to join the team to help make and manage those critical investment decisions to build a system to enable Olympic and Paralympic athletes to continue to deliver medal success at successive Winter and Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Accountable to Government through the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), UK Sport is responsible for investing significant Government and National Lottery resources into the nation’s best and brightest medal hopes, supporting elite athletes from across the UK to compete and succeed on the world stage through its World Class Performance Programme.  In addition it is responsible for funding and supporting major sporting events coming to the UK, for increasing the nation’s influence in international sport and supporting international development through sport.

As Director of Finance and Investment you will be responsible for:

The role of Director of Finance and Investment is accountable to the Chief Executive and works closely alongside fellow Directors within UK Sport contributing to the effective leadership and development of the organisation as a whole.

To succeed, you must be a professionally qualified accountant with demonstrable relevant prior experience of financial management at a senior level, preferably gained in the public sector, and the knowledge and credibility to influence at all levels through the organisation and externally.
