Buttermere

Buttermere's location in the mountains, in what is mainly sheep farming country, combined with its great walking opportunities, has always made it a popular tourist attraction.

Buttermere is one and a half miles long, three quarters of a mile wide and 75ft deep. It's owned by the National Trust.
