Information for Clubs and Centres

Torch Relay Celebrations - 19 May to 27 July 2012

Why not hold an event or host some fun activites at your club, training centre or marina to coincide with the arrival of the Olympic torch into your region or closest town.  It could be 'on the water' relay races or simply a club get together or a barbeque.  Find out when the Olympic Torch arrives in your region

Sail for Gold Regatta medal race day  - 9 June 2012

Take advantage of the Sail for Gold Regatta, the final regatta in the ISAF Sailing World Cup series and create a special event at your club. For instance: Sail for Gold club races, family fun pursuit races, hold an open day with Sail for Gold 'have a go' sessions or invite your members to bring a guest. The idea is to help create a buzz around your club or training centre with the Sail for Gold Regatta as a catalyst.

In addition, special weblinks from the RYA will mean that your club can show up to the minute Team GBR news, commentary, interviews and results from the regatta in the clubhouse for all members to watch whilst they enjoy a beer (or wine...).

‘Push the Boat Out’ - 21 July 2012

Let's get as many boats out on the water as we can on 'Push the Boat Out' day and create an amazing spectacle!  This is the weekend before the start of the Olympics and it would be great to give the British Sailing Team a wonderful send off, waving flags and wishing them 'good luck'.

You can find out more information on how to get involved on the 'Push the Boat Out' section of our website.

'Have a go' sessions - 2012

With the Games taking place in the UK, the profile of sport and sailing will never be so high – so grab the opportunity and use it to your best advantage. Set up Sail for Gold ‘have a go sessions’ for your local community at your club or centre in 2012. For more information please see the Sail for Gold 'have a go' sessions page of the website.
