Bridge over the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal

Monmouthshire boasts two of our most picturesque waterways.

The pretty 'Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal’ tracks a near parallel route from the Brecon Beacons to Newport: its pretty scenery and lightly-locked route making it understandably popular with holidaymakers. From high up in the Welsh hills, the River Usk winds its way through some attractive Welsh villages and the town from which it gets its name. Both warrant exploration by boaters, walkers and lovers of the great outdoors.

Sir Fynwy

Mae Sir Fynwy yn gartref i ddwy o’n dyfrffyrdd harddaf.

Mae llwybr camlas hardd Mynwy ac Aberhonddu bron yn gyfochrog â’r daith o Fannau Brycheiniog i Gasnewydd: nid oes syndod bod ei golygfeydd hardd a’i nifer fach iawn o lociau yn ei gwneud hi’n boblogaidd ymhlith ymwelwyr. O’i tharddle yn uchel ym mryniau Cymru, mae’r Afon Wysg yn llifo trwy nifer o bentrefi Cymreig deniadol a thrwy dref Brynbuga. Mae’r llefydd hyn yn gyrchfannau poblogaidd i gychwyr, cerddwyr a phawb sy’n mwynhau’r awyr agored.
