Wednesbury Oak Loop
Built under the Birmingham Canal Act of 1768, the Wednesbury Oak Loop is one of the least-altered sections of Brindley’s Birmingham Canal Main Line.
Only part of the Wednesbury Oak Loop survives (the southern section has been filled in) and the bit that is left can hardly be described as picturesque. However, it stands as a genuine reminder of the working past of the BCN – a living monument to the industrial revolution – and is still navigable by boats wanting to access the BW workshops at Bradley.
