Weymouth Speed Week 2011

If speed is your thing, then you won't want to miss the world famous DaKine Weymouth Speed week held on Portland Harbour, the birthplace of speed sailing.

The dates have been set for 2011; these are Saturday 15th October to Friday 21st October. Weymouth Speed Week is open to all types of craft, ages and ability.

Speed week is an extremely popular event attracting a real cross-section; young, old, first-timers to hardened old hands. It's the oldest running speed event on the planet with a mix of fun, good competition and social, encouraging people to come back year after year.

As well as the usual great prizes from Simmer, Mistral, Spartan, Club Vass, and Dakine which are biased towards the amateur and beginner groups, there's also the great and the good to rub shoulders with.

It has been confirmed that there will now be a speed record introduced for the techno class.

Visit the UKWA website for further information.

BSA Master Blasters

UKWA Inland Events

These events are suitable for Team15 sailors, as well as their parents and older siblings. Fun, social events aimed at existing windsurfers who want to have a go at racing. There are some very good racers who compete, but equally, there are lots of newcomers who join in and soon improve.

For Team15 sailors some of these events offer the opportunity of a coached event alongside the racing. Since this is an opportunity not to be missed, visit the Open Training Opportunities page for further information.

Also visit the UKWA website for more details about the association and the various racing disciplines and events it runs.

Next year's National Windsurfing Festival (2012)

The 2012 National Windsurfing Festival will take place on the 8/9 September 2012 at Hayling Island. Why not make it a club away day and visit as a group? You can compete or simply spectate - either way it will be excellent fun with lots going on!

Team15 sailors should check out the BSA Turbo15 event, which offers sailors under the age of 16, the opportunity to compete in their own series during the weekend and join up with the pro's for a spot of night windsurf action.
