The benefits of joining ATTA

A company limited by Guarantee run by a Board of Directors drawn from companies involved in tourism throughout Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. The Chief Executive administers the Association from offices located on the Isle of Wight, United Kingdom.

ATTA provides many services for its members, which cover:

1. Networking
Network gatherings include lunches, drinks parties, and an annual dinner. These events allow members to establish relationships with their counterparts across the industry, connecting accommodation suppliers, safari operators, wholesalers, transport providers, journalists, publications, and other tourism related products.

2. Information and Advice
ATTA is constantly fostering an exchange of information between members. ATTA have recently appointed dedicated Medical and Legal advisors whose specialist knowledge in their fields is available to members when required.

3. The Membership Directory and Database
A comprehensive Directory is published annually listing members contact details. Indexed by contact name, category and company this publication is a vital aide-memoir for the tourism industry.

4. The ATTA Media Club
ATTA acts as the interface between its membership and the UK Media, providing a two-way exchange of information to many of the influential travel journalists predominantly based in the UK.

5. Exposure of your product
Through its sophisticated website, which includes hyperlinks to your own website, ATTA provides a valuable exposure of membership product.

6. Travel shows
ATTA plays a leading role in the two main travel trade shows WTM in London and Indaba in South Africa. The ATTA facilities are always located adjacent to the main exhibition floors. They provide an opportunity for members to meet in quieter surroundings away from the hustle and bustle of the main exhibition floor. Café ATTA provides hot beverages free of charge and a quiet ‘rondezvous’ for members and their guests to meet. ATTA is increasingly focusing on Exhibition Business Centres providing simple workstations in an office environment adjacent to the main exhibition.

7. ATTAK, NEWSBUCKET, JOBSPOT
ATTA have developed a sophisticated website with communication facilities attached. The ATTAK facility distributes news stories posted by member or the executive that can be filtered as required by country and category and distributed via e-mail. NEWSBUCKET allows members to attach offers and specialised information to their website. JOBSPOT acts as a staff-recruitment advertising service broadcast across the membership for a nominal fee.

8. The ATTA Logo
Members display the ATTA logo on stationary and promotional material, which acts as a source of recognition throughout the industry.

Wings Over The Wild

Wings Over The Wild Ltd is the General Sales agent for: Mwagusi Safari Camp. Mwagusi Safari Camp is situated in the less frequently visited Ruaha National, Tanzania. Mwagusi is a well-established camp that was started in 1987 and is an expression of the unwavering love and passion of its owner Chris Fox. Born and raised locally, Chris Fox is notorious for his profound knowledge and experience with the wildlife, people and the land of Ruaha. Mwagusi is a charming bush camp with a unique and naturally-inspired design, built and co-existing in harmony and balance with its environment. It provides comfort with a hint of understated safari elegance whilst providing a true bush experience - sleeping in a canvas tent with distant lions roaring. The camp and its’ immediate surroundings are picturesque – 13 tented “bandas” snaking along the sandy banks of the Mwagusi River each with excellent views. Each spacious canvas tent rests under a cooling thatched roof with en-suite facilities and a verandah with cushioned seating area. Each “banda” is built from local natural materials such as thatching grass, river reeds, stones, drift wood and animal skulls, horns and bones. Solar technology powers interior lighting and heats hot water within each tent. The camp has originated from a “no-frills safari experience” where the wildlife and personally guided experience is paramount. Mwagusi is renowned for its high-calibre of local guides and their in-depth knowledge of the African bush. Local Tanzanians benefit from an in-house guide training programme aimed to provide top-class guides with excellent wildlife and bush knowledge.
