Nb1 pleased to recognise outstanding individual in the IT sector
Belfast Telegraph IT Awards: Outstanding Contribution to the IT Sector
Consult Nb1 will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year, and was formed in July 2004 by Noel Brady.
It was set up to meet a developing need in the UK public and private sector marketplace for expert and experienced executive support services — with specific emphasis on business development and public sector services.
Nb1 identified a niche in the market for the services offers. They quite simply fill gaps and needs that exist in executive teams when specific situations arise in companies from time to time.
The key ingredient of its success is that Mr Brady provides unique experience, expertise and specialist knowledge immediately to clients.
Nb1 works professionally and confidentially with and on behalf of clients to help them achieve the business objectives agreed for the engagement.
Mr Brady has held senior positions for over 40 years in both the public and private sectors. He is an honorary fellow of the Sales Institute of Ireland and is also a fellow of the Institute of Directors (IoD).
He was recently been appointed chairman of the Construction Industry Training Board. He is the finance non-executive director for the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust.
Mr Brady is chairman of Continu Ltd, a leading provider of battery storage and UPS systems in the renewable energy sector. He is also a trustee for HMS Caroline and has recently been appointed to the committee of the Public Sector Chairs Forum (PSCF).
He says he was honoured to have been appointed as chairman of the awards panel for the second year running for the 2023 Belfast Telegraph IT Awards.
And Mr Brady was particularly keen to once again personally sponsor the award for Outstanding Contribution to IT.
He says: “Having been involved in the ICT industry here for over 40 years, this was a natural sponsorship opportunity for Nb1.
“One of my greatest pleasures in that time has been having the experience and knowledge of how the ICT sector here has developed from strong emerging roots in the 1980s and 1990s to become the strong, dominant and developing sector it is today, employing many thousands of people.
“Throughout that time, I have had the pleasure of working with and knowing some excellent individuals who have stood out for me.
“It is a very difficult task identifying someone who is truly worthy of this award but thankfully I will have the help of my fellow judges to discuss and select this year’s winner.
“I know one thing for sure — we will select someone who has an outstanding record of achievements in the industry and who deserves to be recognised for their outstanding contribution.”
He added: “I am very excited about the awards this year and I know the entries will be more numerous and competitive by their nature than last year. I also enjoy the awards ceremony which I always find to be one of the best and most enjoyable nights of the year.
“So as chairman of the judging panel I would encourage everyone to get their entries in on time and of course wish everyone the best of luck. Give me and my panel some hard work to do.”
