Zachary Joseph Miller (born December 11, 1985) is an American football tight end who is currently in free agency. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at Arizona State, where he received consensus All-American honors.
Miller has also played for the Seattle Seahawks, with whom he earned a Super Bowl ring in Super Bowl XLVIII.
Miller was born in Tempe, Arizona and attended Altadena Middle School as well as Desert Vista High School in nearby Phoenix, where he played football and competed in track. Miller played in the 2004 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which is an annual all-star game for the nation's best high school football players.
Also a standout performer in the throwing events, Miller was a three-year letterman in track & field, and he set the school discus record and was the shotput regional champion in 2004. He had personal-best throws of 49.20 meters in the discus throw and 15.93 meters in the shot put.
Zachary Scott Miller (born October 4, 1984) is an American football tight end for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He played quarterback and tight end in college at Nebraska-Omaha. A three-sport athlete at Bishop Neumann High School in Wahoo, Nebraska, he earned all-state honors as a senior and also earned honorable mention all-state honors in basketball. He set school records in football as a senior with 1,200 passing yards and 980 rushing yards. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2009 NFL Draft.
Miller was selected in the 6th round (180th Overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He was placed on injured reserve on September 1, 2012.
He was waived from injured reserve on October 16, 2012.
On January 3, 2013, Miller was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On August 27, 2013, he was released by the Buccaneers.
On December 30, 2013, Miller was signed by the Chicago Bears to a reserve/future contract.
