Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. Holidays abroad must be planned in advance, study information, places where you can spend the night and where to eat deliciously. If you decide to go to Poland on vacation, namely to the Pomeranian Voivodeship, then a video review will help you get to know interesting and noteworthy places, in which you can see shots of historical places, landscapes taken from a drone, as well as the sea surface from a bird's eye view . Thanks to the high quality of 4k videos, you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the region and prepare for an exciting trip.
general information
Pomeranian Voivodeship is located in the northern part of the country, on the coast of the Gdansk Bay of the Baltic Sea. The territory has not only Polish lands, but also includes Kashubia, with its own ethnic language and customs. The basis of Pomorie are ports and access to the sea, thanks to which the shipbuilding industry and trade, as well as the extraction of amber, are well developed. The region is known for its cities, sights (the castle of the Crusaders in Melbork), which is part of UNESCO, as well as many sanatoriums and resort areas in nature reserves.
Capital
The capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship is the city of Gdansk, the mention of which dates back to 997. It is the maritime capital of the Baltic Sea, and one of the richest Hanseatic cities, prospering from the extraction and sale of amber, as well as an excellent tourist city due to the embankment along the Motława River. Gdansk together with Sopot and Gdynia form the Tricity agglomeration, and is considered as a tri-city.
Nature (landscapes, beautiful places)
The fact that the Pomeranian Voivodeship is located by the sea is already a great beauty, the Vistula also flows into the sea, and there are formed natural bays for the calls of trading and pleasure ships. More than 40% of the entire territory of the region is forest, coniferous, pine forests. Ethnotourism is very well developed in the region, thanks to the Slovinsky National Park, where the ethnovillage is located, various routes, as well as more than 30 km of the coastline, where the water has washed sand dunes. Tucholskie Bory National Park with walking trails along lakes, rivers and through peat bogs inhabited by moose, deer, ermines, rare bird species (about 250 species).
Main cities: Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot, Tczew
If you come to the Pomeranian Voivodeship, then you should spend time in the main cities and get acquainted with cultural and architectural sights.
Gdansk is a fabulous city by the sea, and any walk should start from the Old Town with the City Hall, the Neptune Fountain and the Gothic Church of the Virgin Mary. Oliva Park is famous for its beautiful landscape with rock garden, greenhouses, waterfalls and slopes.
Gdynia is a small, relatively young city, which is not decorated with any architectural sights, but conveys a maritime character. After all, each building is made in the form of a ship, and the windows are in the form of portholes, to comply with the marine "aesthetics".
Sopot is a popular Baltic resort with the longest pier in all of Europe. The city will delight you with white sandy beaches, expensive luxury hotels and golf courses. It is in Sopot that the oldest balneological resort is located, which accepts tourists to this day.
Tczew is a small cozy town famous for its architecture: town halls, Gothic temples. Also, thanks to the located port, it develops the trade industry quite well.
What to watch
Of course, the first thing worth visiting is in the Tri-City Voivodeship, which includes Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot. It is enough to allocate one day for each city. Particular attention should be paid to a trip to national parks, as well as to visit the route associated with amber, visit the trading post, where the International Amber Route is reproduced. And get acquainted with the traditions of Kashubia, look at her crafts and raft on the Kashubian lakes in kayaks. Visit the festivals that are held in the castles of Malbork, Kwidzin, Sturm.
Attractions
Among the attractions that tourists must see, it is worth highlighting:
Ethno open-air museum "Slovinskaya village"
Medical resort in Sopot with health paths and healing water baths;
The town of Malbork with the famous castle of the Teutonic Order;
Kashubia with its "upside down house", the best Center for Education and Advertising near Mount Wierzyca, and drink beer at the local brewery.

We believe that a part of the success of the last 10 years is because our region is diverse. It's open and it respects and welcomes everyone regardless of who they are. This has resulted in a vibrant community of global talent and we are proud to work with our regional partners to further facilitate the economic integration of migrants. Here' Marta talking about her plans and how she envisions future collaboration.
Zaowocowało to żywą społecznością globalnych talentów i jesteśmy dumni, że możemy współpracować z naszymi regionalnymi partnerami w celu dalszego ułatwiania integracji ekonomicznej migrantów.

https://youtu.be/RmXky7IFyeo .
Gdańsk is the capital and largest city of the Pomeranian Voivodeship and the most prominent city in the geographical region of Pomerania. It is Poland's principal seaport and the country's fourth-largest metropolitan area. The city is situated at the southern edge of Gdańsk Bay, in a conurbation with the city of Gdynia, the resort town of Sopot, and suburban communities; these form a metropolitan area called the Tricity (Trójmiasto), with a population of approximately 1.5 million. Gdańsk lies at the mouth of the Motława River, connected to the Leniwka, a branch in the delta of the Vistula River, which drains 60 percent of Poland and connects Gdańsk with the Polish capital, Warsaw. To read more about Gdańsk, click here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gdańsk .
This film features views of Gdańsk from what is predominantly a pedestrian exploration of the old town and Motława riverside areas. It features views of the streets, art, architecture, statues, churches, trams, bridges and Gdańsk Główny Railway Station. The footage is labelled throughout with the locations that are being filmed. There is no narration, the natural background sounds are used for the audio of the film.

Gdansk is the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, a port city located on the shores of the Gulf of Gdansk. Together with Gdynia and Sopot, Gdansk is part of the Trójmiasto agglomeration, that is, the Tricity. Gdansk combines rich history and vibrant modernity. It is also called the capital of amber, and the architectural pearl of Poland, and its tourist capital. This city changed its name more than once - then Gdansk, then Danzig, then again Gdansk ...
Gdansk is a city of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, transferred to our time. It has many architectural monuments, which are carefully and lovingly looked after. Actually, the entire Main City is a solid attraction.
Gdansk is a city with more than a thousand years of history: its first mention as a city dates back to 997. The sea capital of Poland and one of the largest ports on the Baltic Sea, this city is unlike any other and has always been imbued with the spirit of freedom. The Latin phrase “Nec Temere, Nec Timide” (“Not with reckless courage, but without timidity”), the motto of the City of Neptune, best conveys the character of Gdansk, which was once part of the Hansa, an economic union of European cities that existed from the 12th to the 17th century .
One of the main advantages of Gdansk is wide sandy beaches along which modern bicycle paths stretch. All the advantages of a Baltic vacation are guaranteed by the beaches in Sobieszewo, Jelitkowo, Stogi and Brzeźno. All of them are located close to hotels, restaurants and bars with live music.
Area: 262 km². Population: 582,205 (2017)

The Polish Corridor , also known as the Danzig Corridor, Corridor to the Sea or Gdańsk Corridor, was a territory located in the region of Pomerelia (Pomeranian Voivodeship, eastern Pomerania, formerly part of West Prussia), which provided the Second Republic of Poland (1920–1939) with access to the Baltic Sea, thus dividing the bulk of Germany (Weimar Republic) from the province of East Prussia. At its narrowest point, the Polish territory was just 30 km wide.[1] The Free City of Danzig (now the Polish cities of Gdańsk, Sopot and the surrounding areas), situated to the east of the corridor, was a semi-independent German speaking city-state forming part of neither Germany nor Poland, though united with the latter through an imposed union covering cust...

Kadyny, Poland
Kadyny is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Tolkmicko, within Elbląg County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. It lies on the Vistula Lagoon of the Baltic Sea, approximately 4 kilometres south-west of Tolkmicko, 24 km north of Elbląg, and 88 km north-west of the regional capital Olsztyn. The village has an approximate population of 600.
The terra Cadinensis first mentioned in 1255 was allegedly named after Cadina, a daughter of an Old Prussian chief. It shared a border with the territory of Lanzanien or Lenzen to the south. The Teutonic Knights in Prussia built a Hof (estate) near the site of the Prussian Burg (castle) Cadina, where they held court over the native Old Prussian inhabitants in the area, until it was named Cadinen and owned by the Baysen noble...

Gdynia
Gdynia ( gə-DIN-ee-ə; Polish: [ˈɡdɨɲa] (listen); German: Gdingen (currently), Gotenhafen (1939-1945); Kashubian: Gdiniô) is a city in northern Poland and a seaport on the Baltic Sea coast. With a population of 246,348, it is the 12th-largest city in Poland and the second-largest in the Pomeranian Voivodeship after Gdańsk. Gdynia is part of a conurbation with the spa town of Sopot, the city of Gdańsk, and suburban communities, which together form a metropolitan area called the Tricity (Trójmiasto) with around 800,000 inhabitants.
Historically and culturally part of Kashubia and Eastern Pomerania, Gdynia for centuries remained a small fishing village. By the 20th-century it attracted visitors as a seaside resort town. In 1926 Gdynia was granted city rights, after which it enjoyed demographi...

SUMMARY
=======
Pomerania (Polish: Pomorze; German, Low German and North Germanic languages: Pommern; Kashubian: Pòmòrskô) is a historical region on the southern shore of the Baltic Sea in Central Europe, split between Germany and Poland.
The name derives from the Slavic po more, meaning "by the sea" or "on the sea". Pomerania stretches roughly from the Recknitz and Trebel rivers in the west to the Vistula river in the east.The largest Pomeranian islands are Rügen, Usedom/Uznam and Wolin. The largest Pomeranian city is Gdańsk, or, when using a narrower definition of the region, Szczecin. Outside its urban areas, Pomerania is characterized by farmland, dotted with numerous lakes, forests, and towns. The region was strongly affected by post–World War I and II border and population shifts, with most of its pre-war inhabitants leaving or being expelled after 1945.

At its narrowest point, the Polish territory was just 30 km wide.[1] The Free City of Danzig (now the Polish cities of Gdańsk, Sopot and the surrounding areas), situated to the east of the corridor, was a semi-independent German speaking city-state forming part of neither Germany nor Poland, though united with the latter through an imposed union covering customs, mail, foreign policy, railways as well as defence.
A similar territory, also occasionally referred to as a corridor, was originally connected to the Polish Crown until 1308, and was later reclaimed as part of Royal Prussia during the period 1466–1772.

The Teutonic Knights in Prussia built a Hof (estate) near the site of the Prussian Burg (castle) Cadina, where they held court over the native Old Prussian inhabitants in the area, until it was named Cadinen and owned by the Baysen noble family in the days of the Prussian Confederation.
Later, with the 1466 Second Peace of Thorn it became part of Polish Royal Prussia and was then subsequently annexed by the Kingdom of Prussia during the First Partition of Poland in 1772. The German emperor Wilhelm II acquired Cadinen manor in 1898 and made it his summer residence. A successful Maiolica tile factory was established there in 1905, and many of those tiles were used to decorate the Old Elbe Tunnel in Hamburg and several Berlin U-Bahn stations. After World War I, Cadinen remained the property of the House of Hohenzollern until their expulsion in 1945. Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia was the last person to have lived here. Cadinen became, and remains today, a breeding site for Trakehner horses.
Since 1945, when the area was turned over to the Republic of Poland, it has been called Kadyny.

1. Stare Miasto znajduje się w północnej części dzielnicy Śródmieście. Graniczy z osiedlami administracyjnymi: Aniołki oraz z Młyniskami, a dokładniej z Młodym Miastem. Na południowym wschodzie styka się z Motławą. Od południa poprzez ulicę Podwale Staromiejskie graniczy z Głównym Miastem, a od zachodu z Nowymi Ogrodami i Grodziskiem. Przez Stare Miasto przepływa Kanał Raduni tworząc małą wyspę.
Wyróżnia się trzy obszary historyczne Starego Miasta:
Brama Oliwska – obszar na północnym krańcu Starego Miasta w miejscu dawnej bramy miejskiej.
Osiek – obszar mieszkalny w ostatnim zakolu Kanału Raduni.
Zamczysko – rejon położony nad Motławą, tereny nieistniejącego zamku krzyżackiego (wraz z późniejszą Wiadrownią).
2. Zamek w Malborku (niem.
1. Stare Miasto znajduje się w północnej części dzielnicy Śródmieście. Graniczy z osiedlami administracyjnymi: Aniołki oraz z Młyniskami, a dokładniej z Młodym Miastem. Na południowym wschodzie styka się z Motławą. Od południa poprzez ulicę Podwale Staromiejskie graniczy z Głównym Miastem, a od zachodu z Nowymi Ogrodami i Grodziskiem. Przez Stare Miasto przepływa Kanał Raduni tworząc małą wyspę.
Wyróżnia się trzy obszary historyczne Starego Miasta:
Brama Oliwska – obszar na północnym krańcu Starego Miasta w miejscu dawnej bramy miejskiej.
Osiek – obszar mieszkalny w ostatnim zakolu Kanału Raduni.
Zamczysko – rejon położony nad Motławą, tereny nieistniejącego zamku krzyżackiego (wraz z późniejszą Wiadrownią).
2. Zamek w Malborku (niem.

SUMMARY
=======
Prussia (Old Prussian: Prūsa; German: Preußen; Lithuanian: Prūsija; Polish: Prusy; Russian: Пруссия) is a historical region in Europe, stretching from Gdańsk Bay to the end of Curonian Spit on the southeastern coast of the Baltic Sea, and extending inland as far as Masuria. The territory and inhabitants were described by Tacitus in Germania in AD 98, where Suebi, Goths and other Germanic people lived on both sides of the Vistula River, adjacent to the Aesti (further east). About 800 to 900 years later the Aesti were named Old Prussians, who since 997 repeatedly successfully defended against take-over attempt by the newly created Duchy of the Polans. The territory of the Old Prussians and neighboring Curonians and Livonians was unified politically in the 1230s as the Teutonic Order State. Prussia was politically divided between 1466 and 1772, with western Prussia under protection of the Crown of Poland and eastern Prussia a Polish–Lithuanian fief until 1660. The unity of both parts of Prussia remained preserved by retaining its borders, citizenship and autonomy until western and eastern Prussia were also politically reunited under the German Kingdom of Prussia (which despite the name was based in Berlin, Brandenburg). It is famous for many lakes, as well as forests and hills. Since the military conquest of the area by the Soviet Army in 1945 and the expulsion of the German-speaking inhabitants it was divided between northern Poland (most of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship), Russia's Kaliningrad exclave, and southwestern Lithuania (Klaipėda Region). The former German kingdom and later state of Prussia (1701–1947) derived its name from the region.

In 1926 Gdynia was granted city rights, after which it enjoyed demographic and urban development, with a modernist cityscape. Until 1939 it was located in the narrow Polish Corridor, between the Free City of Danzig and Germany. Many of its residents were displaced or evicted during the Second World War. The post-war period saw an influx of settlers from Warsaw and other parts of the country as well as Poles from Vilnius and Lviv. The violent protests of December 1970 contributed to the rise of the Solidarity movement in nearby Gdańsk.
The port of Gdynia is a regular stopover on the cruising itinerary of luxury passenger ships and ferries travelling to Scandinavia. In 2013, Gdynia was ranked by readers of The News as Poland's best city to live in, and topped the national rankings in the category of "general quality of life".
