The Script is an Irish pop rock band formed in 2001. The band comprises guitarist and vocalist Danny O'Donoghue, guitarist and vocalist Mark Sheehan and drummer Glen Power. Based in London after signing to Sony Label Group imprint Phonogenic, the band released its eponymous debut album, The Script, in August 2008, featuring the hit songs "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" and "Breakeven (Falling to Pieces)". The album peaked at number one in Ireland and the UK. Their next three albums, Science & Faith (2010), #3 (2012) and No Sound Without Silence (2014), all topped the album charts in Ireland and the UK, while Science & Faith reached number three in the US. Hit singles from the albums include "For the First Time", "Nothing", "Hall of Fame" and "Superheroes".
The Script's music has been featured in popular television programmes such as 90210, Ghost Whisperer, The Hills, Waterloo Road, EastEnders, Made in Chelsea and The Vampire Diaries. Frontman Danny O'Donoghue was also a coach on The Voice UK for seasons 1 and 2, before leaving the show in order to focus more on the band. The band has won three Meteor Ireland Music Awards, two World Music Awards and have received two Brit Award nominations.
Science & Faith is the second studio album by Irish pop rock band The Script. It was released in Ireland on 10 September 2010, via RCA Records. It was preceded by the lead single, "For the First Time", on 3 September 2010. It debuted at number one in Ireland and United Kingdom, selling 70,816 copies in its first week in the United Kingdom. In the United States, Science & Faith debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 49,000 copies. The album has sold 314,000 copies in the US, and over 1.5 million worldwide. The album was met with generally mixed reviews.
For the album's release in the United States, the B-side track "Bullet from a Gun" was added to the tracklisting, and a remix of "Walk Away", featuring American rapper B.o.B, which was originally set to be a single stateside, was also added. On 16 October 2011, the album was re-released in Asia, in the form of a "Tour Edition", which again adds "Bullet from a Gun" to the tracklist, as well as a live version of "Science & Faith", and a bonus DVD containing the music videos for "For the First Time" and "Nothing", two behind the scenes segments, a director's cut video, a television performance clip, and a short documentary trailing the band's performance at Arthur's Day in Ireland. This particular version of the album has never been issued in the United Kingdom.
Science is a systematic enterprise that creates, builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe.
Contemporary science is typically subdivided into the natural sciences which study the material world, the social sciences which study people and societies, and the formal sciences like mathematics. The formal sciences are often excluded as they do not depend on empirical observations. Disciplines which use science like engineering and medicine may also be considered to be applied sciences.
During the middle ages in the Middle East, foundations for the scientific method were laid by Alhazen. From classical antiquity through the 19th century, science as a type of knowledge was more closely linked to philosophy than it is now and, in fact, in the West the term "natural philosophy" encompassed fields of study that are today associated with science, such as physics, astronomy and medicine.
In the 17th and 18th centuries scientists increasingly sought to formulate knowledge in terms of laws of nature. Over the course of the 19th century, the word "science" became increasingly associated with the scientific method itself, as a disciplined way to study the natural world. It was in the 19th century that scientific disciplines such as physics, chemistry, and biology reached their modern shapes. The same time period also included the origin of the terms "scientist" and "scientific community," the founding of scientific institutions, and increasing significance of the interactions with society and other aspects of culture.
Faith is confidence or trust in a person or thing; or the observance of an obligation from loyalty; or fidelity to a person, promise, engagement; or a belief not based on proof; or it may refer to a particular system of religious belief, such as in which faith is confidence based on some degree of warrant. The term 'faith' has numerous connotations and is used in different ways, often depending on context.
The English word faith is thought to date from 1200–50, from the Middle English feith, via Anglo-French fed, Old French feid, feit from Latin fidem, accusative of fidēs (trust), akin to fīdere (to trust).
There is a wide spectrum of opinion with respect to the epistemological validity of faith.
Fideism is an epistemological theory which maintains that faith is independent of reason, or that reason and faith are hostile to each other and faith is superior at arriving at particular truths (see natural theology).
Fideism is not a synonym for religious belief, but describes a particular philosophical proposition in regard to the relationship between faith's appropriate jurisdiction at arriving at truths, contrasted against reason. It states that faith is needed to determine some philosophical and religious truths, and it questions the ability of reason to arrive at all truth. The word and concept had its origin in the mid- to late-19th century by way of Catholic thought, in a movement called Traditionalism. The Roman Catholic Magisterium has, however, repeatedly condemned fideism.

Narrated by Devendra Banhart. (Support Tim Maia on iTunes - http://bit.ly/PUzVgr) This is the story of Tim Maia, possibly the greatest (and craziest) soul singer you never heard of. Infamous in Brazil, Tim was a soul grenade that exploded in the 70s. He single handedly revolutionized Brazilian popular music and had the best time ever doing it. His story is one of humourous excess in every way imaginable and there’s something for all the family: drugs, women, money, guns and even a UFO cult thrown in. He REALLY lived the dream, always with a smile. This animated film has been created in a close collaboration between SuperHeroes Amsterdam, ShopAround and record label Luaka Bop, to celebrate Tim’s album launch and introduce the world to a soul superstar. After a decade of legal wrangling, L...

Hi! Trickster is a small Live-action short film based on the Matrix movie, it's a fan-made film to see how far we can go with our skills in Film making and Visual effects. The project was born in 2013 when Antonio, a friend of mine, suggested to make a video with a Sentinel 3D model that i made some time ago for fun. I was hooked since the beginning with the idea, i wrote a small synopsis and then a 3 page script, the project started to grow more than i expected. At the beginning we only thought of making a small visual effects integration video and then we ended up with a 3 minute live action short film. This project was made in Colombia, and it was shot near Bogotá using a GH3 Camera and some Rokinon Lenses. I want to thank Alejandro Ramírez for helping me along the project until th...

When you want change or try a different color it's almost impossible because you have to change each individual color of every element in the project. Imagine if all the elements that share the same color have the ability to be dynamically linked to one color source. Song by: Röyksopp royksopp.com - Happy Up Here

It's something we not necessarily wanted to release, we just thought that it's such a powerful message and a powerful song that we wanted it on the album, but our fans have really turned that into a single.
