Liam Rushe (born 18 June 1990) is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a centre forward for the Dublin senior team.
Rushe made his first appearance for the team during the 2009 championship and has become a regular member of the starting fifteen since then. During that time he has won one Leinster Senior Hurling Championship winner's medal (2013) one National Hurling League winner's medal and has been a runner-up in two Leinster finals.
At club level Rushe plays with St Patricks, Palmerstown. Liam did both his primary and secondary schooling through Irish. He is a fluent Irish speaker and does match commentary work with TG4.
As a member of the St Patricks, Palmerstown club, the man himself won a county club 'B' championship title in 2008.
Rushe first came to prominence on the inter-county scene in 2007 as a member of the Dublin minor hurling team in 2007. He won a Leinster title that year following a 2-14 to 1-10 defeat of Kilkenny.
By 2010 Rushe had joined the Dublin under-21 hurling team. He won a Leinster title in that grade that year following a 2-15 to 0-15 defeat of Wexford.
Liam is a short form of the Irish name "Uilliam", itself a derivative of the Frankish name "Willahelm".
Liam has been one of the most popular names for boys in the United States since 2010.
The original name was a merging of two Old German elements: vila ("will" or "resolution"); and helma ("helmet"). The juxtaposition of these two elements effectively means "helmet of will" or "Guardian".
When the Frankish Empire was divided into two parts, the name developed differently in each region. In the French half, Willahelm developed first into "Guilielm", and then into "Guillaume", whereas in the German half, the root form developed into "Wilhelm". This latter form was further developed by the English into the familiar modern form "William".
Although the names Willahelm and Guillaume were well known in England prior to 1066, through Saxon dealings with Guillaume, Duc de Normandie, it was viewed as a "foreign" name. The Norman Conquest had a dramatic effect on English names. Many, if not most Saxon names, such as Ethelred, died out under the massive influx of French ones. Since the Royal Court now rang with names such as Alain, Guy, Aeginald and William, they were quickly adopted by the English, the Welsh, and eventually the Irish.

William Anthony Singe (born 2 July 1992), better known by his stage name William Singe, is an Australian singer, songwriter and producer. He is most notable for his online videos that have amassed hundreds of millions of YouTube and Facebook views.
Singe started his career as a member of The Collective, an Australian boy band which was formed during the fourth season of The X Factor Australia in 2012, finishing in third place. The Collective subsequently signed with Sony Music Australia and released seven singles and a self-titled album. They disbanded after Singe left the group in 2015.
In 2014 and 2015, Singe recorded numerous R&B, pop, hip-hop and rap covers in his bedroom. In less than a year, he accumulated over two million Facebook fans, reached a #1 position on Spotify, twenty million Spotify streams, and earned more than fifty million video views and half a million subscribers on YouTube.
Singe was raised in Forestville, a suburb of northern Sydney. He is of Māori Australian descent.
