In this video, we shall explore 10 things you didn’t know about the beautifl country of Togo.Togo, officially the Togolese Republic, is a country in West Africa bordered by Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north. The country extends south to the Gulf of Guinea, where its capital Lomé is located. Togo covers 57,000km2, making it one of the smallest countries in Africa, with a population of approximately 7.9million, as well as one of the narrowest countries in the world with a width of less than 115km between Ghana and its slightly larger eastern neighbour, Benin.Togo is a tropical, sub-Saharan nation, whose economy depends highly on agriculture, with a climate that provides good growing seasons. Togo is a member of the United Nations, African Union, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, South Atlantic Peace and Cooperation Zone, Francophonie, and Economic Community of West African States.

Togo might be one of the most hidden countries in Africa, and much is not known about the petite narrow country, hence here are 10 things you probably didn’t know about Togo.
1. Togo Was Known as the ‘Slave Coast’
Between the 11th and 16th centuries various tribes such as those from Ghana and Nigeria entered the region with most settling in the coastal areas. For the next two hundred years the coast became a major center for European slave trade and earned Togo and the nearby areas the reputation as “The Slave Coast.” The Mina from Ghana were the most victimized by the slave trade.
2. Togo Had one of the Longest Sitting Dictator in Modern History
After World War I, rule over Togo was transferred to France but gained its independence from France in 1960. Slyvanus Olympio brought independence to Togo as prime minister and then President. Soldiers working for Sergeant Etienne Eyadéma Gnassingbe later assassinated him in a military coup on January 13, 1963. After the assassination, the head of the “Insurrection Committee,” Emmanuel Bodjollé appointed Nicolas Grunitzky president. However, 4 years later Grunitzky was overthrown in a non-violent coup by Eyadéma Gnassingbe. Eyadéma, Africa’s longest-sitting dictator, then ruled as president for 38 years until his death on February 5, 2005. In 1993, during his reign the European Union cut off aid in due to human rights concerns.
3. Ghana Originated from Former Togoland
In 1884 Germany signed a treaty at Togoville under the King Mlapa III, which declared Togoland a protectorate that stretched from the coast inland. This became the German colony of Togoland in 1905. After Germany was defeated in World War I, Britain and France administered Togoland as two League of Nations mandates. The mandates became UN Trust Territories after World War II. British Togoland joined the Gold Coast, which in 1957 became the independent nation of Ghana. In 1959, French Togoland became an autonomous republic of the French Union until its independence in 1960.
4. The Political System of Togo is Disturbing
After Eyadéma Gnassingbe’s death in 2005, his son, Faure Gnassingbé, was installed by the military as president, but this led to an international outcry. However, France, Abdoulaye Wade of Senegal, Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria, and other elected African leaders were supportive of the move which lead to opposition within the African Union.Faure Gnassingbé responded by stepping down, but calling for elections two months later. While he won the elections there were claims by the opposition of election fraud. Violence followed as a result of the elections with more than 400 people were killed, and an estimated 40,000 people fleeing to nearby countries. The countries reputation was again shaky in the international community as its promises in 2004 to the European Union to the establish democracy seemed to be in doubt.
5. Togo’s Economy Has Been Greatly Affected By its Political Strive
Togo’s economy is small and depends on subsistence and commercial agriculture. When harvests are normal, Togo is self-sufficient for basic food goods with only occasional regional supply difficulties. Phosphate mining used to be the primary industrial activity, but due to increased foreign competition, and the collapse of world phosphate prices, Togo has been relying more on export of cement and clinker to nearby countries.The economic reforms

Togo (
i/ˈtoʊɡoʊ/), officially the Togolese Republic (French: République Togolaise), is a country in West Africa bordered by Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north. Togo is a tropical, sub-Saharan nation, highly dependent on agriculture, with a climate that provides good growing seasons. The official language is French, with many other languages spoken in Togo, particularly those of the Gbe family. The largest religious group in Togo consists of those with indigenous beliefs, and there are significant Christian and Muslim minorities. Togo is a member of the United Nations, African Union, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, South Atlantic Peace and Cooperation Zone, La Francophonie and Economic Community of West African States.
From the 11th to the 16th century, various tribes entered the region from all directions. From the 16th century to the 18th century, the coastal region was a major trading center for Europeans in search of slaves, earning Togo and the surrounding region the name "The Slave Coast". In 1884, Germany declared Togoland a protectorate. After World War I, rule over Togo was transferred to France. Togo gained its independence from France in 1960.

Togo is a character in the popular Nancy Drew mystery series. Togo is Nancy Drew's dog. He was introduced in the original version of The Whispering Statue as a Bull Terrier. In both the original and revised versions of The Ghost of Blackwood Hall he is a Fox Terrier. In Mystery of Crocodile Island he is a Bull Terrier. Togo helps Nancy sometimes in her cases.

Togo is a member of the United Nations, African Union, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, South Atlantic Peace and Cooperation Zone, Francophonie, and Economic Community of West African States.

Togo might be one of the most hidden countries in Africa, and much is not known about the petite narrow country, hence here are 10 things you probably didn’t know about Togo.
1. Togo Was Known as the ‘Slave Coast’
Between the 11th and 16th centuries various tribes such as those from Ghana and Nigeria entered the region with most settling in the coastal areas. For the next two hundred years the coast became a major center for European slave trade and earned Togo and the nearby areas the reputation as “The Slave Coast.” The Mina from Ghana were the most victimized by the slave trade.
2. Togo Had one of the Longest Sitting Dictator in Modern History
After World War I, rule over Togo was transferred to France but gained its independence from France in 1960. Slyvanus Olympio brought independence to Togo as prime minister and then President. Soldiers working for Sergeant Etienne Eyadéma Gnassingbe later assassinated him in a military coup on January 13, 1963. After the assassination, the head of the “Insurrection Committee,” Emmanuel Bodjollé appointed Nicolas Grunitzky president. However, 4 years later Grunitzky was overthrown in a non-violent coup by Eyadéma Gnassingbe. Eyadéma, Africa’s longest-sitting dictator, then ruled as president for 38 years until his death on February 5, 2005. In 1993, during his reign the European Union cut off aid in due to human rights concerns.
3. Ghana Originated from Former Togoland
In 1884 Germany signed a treaty at Togoville under the King Mlapa III, which declared Togoland a protectorate that stretched from the coast inland. This became the German colony of Togoland in 1905. After Germany was defeated in World War I, Britain and France administered Togoland as two League of Nations mandates. The mandates became UN Trust Territories after World War II. British Togoland joined the Gold Coast, which in 1957 became the independent nation of Ghana. In 1959, French Togoland became an autonomous republic of the French Union until its independence in 1960.
4. The Political System of Togo is Disturbing
After Eyadéma Gnassingbe’s death in 2005, his son, Faure Gnassingbé, was installed by the military as president, but this led to an international outcry. However, France, Abdoulaye Wade of Senegal, Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria, and other elected African leaders were supportive of the move which lead to opposition within the African Union.Faure Gnassingbé responded by stepping down, but calling for elections two months later. While he won the elections there were claims by the opposition of election fraud. Violence followed as a result of the elections with more than 400 people were killed, and an estimated 40,000 people fleeing to nearby countries. The countries reputation was again shaky in the international community as its promises in 2004 to the European Union to the establish democracy seemed to be in doubt.
5. Togo’s Economy Has Been Greatly Affected By its Political Strive
Togo’s economy is small and depends on subsistence and commercial agriculture. When harvests are normal, Togo is self-sufficient for basic food goods with only occasional regional supply difficulties. Phosphate mining used to be the primary industrial activity, but due to increased foreign competition, and the collapse of world phosphate prices, Togo has been relying more on export of cement and clinker to nearby countries.The economic reforms

Street performance or busking is the act of performing in public places for gratuities. In many countries the rewards are generally in the form of money but other gratuities such as food, drink or gifts may be given. Street performance is practiced all over the world and dates back to antiquity. People engaging in this practice are called street performers or buskers.
Performances are anything that people find entertaining. Performers may do acrobatics, animal tricks, balloon twisting, caricatures, clowning, comedy, contortions, escapology, dance, singing, fire skills, flea circus, fortune-telling, juggling, magic, mime, living statue, musical performance, puppeteering, snake charming, storytelling or reciting poetry or prose, street art such as sketching and painting, street theatre, sword swallowing, and ventriloquism.

The Scenic Railway at Luna Park, Melbourne, is the world's oldest continually-operating roller coaster, built in 1912.
A roller coaster is a type of amusement ride that employs a form of elevated railroad track designed with tight turns, steep slopes, and sometimes inversions.[1] People ride along the track in open cars, and the rides are often found in amusement parks and theme parks around the world.[1] LaMarcus Adna Thompson obtained one of the first known patents for a roller coaster design in 1885, related to the Switchback Railway that opened a year earlier at Coney Island.[2][3] The track in a coaster design does not necessarily have to be a complete circuit, as shuttle roller coasters demonstrate. Most roller coasters have multiple cars in which passengers sit and are restrained.[4] Two or more cars hooked together are called a train. Some roller coasters, notably wild mouse roller coasters, run with single cars.

In this very Practical webinar, I want to guide you in working more accurately to the right determent working length. How to avoid over prepping root canals and cause iatrogenic bleeding. We will look at different obturation methods and I will try and guide you on how to avoid nasty overfills be it Single cone, Guttacore, or Vertical Condensation.

Dr Heinrich Dippenaar, finished his Degree in Dentistry (B.Ch.D) at the University of Stellenbosch in 2002. He was awarded the FX Prins Award for the Best Student in Clinical Dentistry. After his community service year, Dr Dippenaar started a private practice in his hometown, Welkom, in 2003. He served on the SADA board of the Free State Branch from 2004 to 2008 and he became President in 2008. Dr Dippenaar completed a postgraduate diploma in Endodontics at the University of Pretoria in 2011.
He received training at the Dentsply Maillefer factory in Switzerland in 2012 and is a certified trainer on Dentsply Maillefer products. Dr Dippenaar has co-authored an article with Prof P. van der Vyver on Irrigation in Endodontics that was published in Endodontic Practice US January 2015.He attended a workshop in 2017 at Dentsply-Sirona Factory in Bensheim Germany on SiCAT and Surgical Guides and on 3D Endo Software.2017 Attended a workshop on CBCT Examination at the University of Hamburg. 2017 Completed a Year Implant sertificate at Pretoria University 2019 Relocated his practice to Plettenberg Bay He has a special interest in Endodontics.

In this video, we shall explore 10 things you didn’t know about the beautifl country of Togo.Togo, officially the Togolese Republic, is a country in West Africa bordered by Ghana to the west, Benin to the east and Burkina Faso to the north. The country extends south to the Gulf of Guinea, where its capital Lomé is located. Togo covers 57,000km2, making it one of the smallest countries in Africa, with a population of approximately 7.9million, as well as one of the narrowest countries in the world with a width of less than 115km between Ghana and its slightly larger eastern neighbour, Benin.Togo is a tropical, sub-Saharan nation, whose economy depends highly on agriculture, with a climate that provides good growing seasons. Togo is a member of the United Nations, African Union, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, South Atlantic Peace and Cooperation Zone, Francophonie, and Economic Community of West African States.

Togo might be one of the most hidden countries in Africa, and much is not known about the petite narrow country, hence here are 10 things you probably didn’t know about Togo.
1. Togo Was Known as the ‘Slave Coast’
Between the 11th and 16th centuries various tribes such as those from Ghana and Nigeria entered the region with most settling in the coastal areas. For the next two hundred years the coast became a major center for European slave trade and earned Togo and the nearby areas the reputation as “The Slave Coast.” The Mina from Ghana were the most victimized by the slave trade.
2. Togo Had one of the Longest Sitting Dictator in Modern History
After World War I, rule over Togo was transferred to France but gained its independence from France in 1960. Slyvanus Olympio brought independence to Togo as prime minister and then President. Soldiers working for Sergeant Etienne Eyadéma Gnassingbe later assassinated him in a military coup on January 13, 1963. After the assassination, the head of the “Insurrection Committee,” Emmanuel Bodjollé appointed Nicolas Grunitzky president. However, 4 years later Grunitzky was overthrown in a non-violent coup by Eyadéma Gnassingbe. Eyadéma, Africa’s longest-sitting dictator, then ruled as president for 38 years until his death on February 5, 2005. In 1993, during his reign the European Union cut off aid in due to human rights concerns.
3. Ghana Originated from Former Togoland
In 1884 Germany signed a treaty at Togoville under the King Mlapa III, which declared Togoland a protectorate that stretched from the coast inland. This became the German colony of Togoland in 1905. After Germany was defeated in World War I, Britain and France administered Togoland as two League of Nations mandates. The mandates became UN Trust Territories after World War II. British Togoland joined the Gold Coast, which in 1957 became the independent nation of Ghana. In 1959, French Togoland became an autonomous republic of the French Union until its independence in 1960.
4. The Political System of Togo is Disturbing
After Eyadéma Gnassingbe’s death in 2005, his son, Faure Gnassingbé, was installed by the military as president, but this led to an international outcry. However, France, Abdoulaye Wade of Senegal, Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria, and other elected African leaders were supportive of the move which lead to opposition within the African Union.Faure Gnassingbé responded by stepping down, but calling for elections two months later. While he won the elections there were claims by the opposition of election fraud. Violence followed as a result of the elections with more than 400 people were killed, and an estimated 40,000 people fleeing to nearby countries. The countries reputation was again shaky in the international community as its promises in 2004 to the European Union to the establish democracy seemed to be in doubt.
5. Togo’s Economy Has Been Greatly Affected By its Political Strive
Togo’s economy is small and depends on subsistence and commercial agriculture. When harvests are normal, Togo is self-sufficient for basic food goods with only occasional regional supply difficulties. Phosphate mining used to be the primary industrial activity, but due to increased foreign competition, and the collapse of world phosphate prices, Togo has been relying more on export of cement and clinker to nearby countries.The economic reforms

Street performance is practiced all over the world and dates back to antiquity. People engaging in this practice are called street performers or buskers.

The Scenic Railway at Luna Park, Melbourne, is the world's oldest continually-operating roller coaster, built in 1912.
A roller coaster is a type of amusement ride that employs a form of elevated railroad track designed with tight turns, steep slopes, and sometimes inversions.[1] People ride along the track in open cars, and the rides are often found in amusement parks and theme parks around the world.[1] LaMarcus Adna Thompson obtained one of the first known patents for a roller coaster design in 1885, related to the Switchback Railway that opened a year earlier at Coney Island.[2][3] The track in a coaster design does not necessarily have to be a complete circuit, as shuttle roller coasters demonstrate. Most roller coasters have multiple cars in which passengers sit and are restrained.[4] Two or more cars hooked together are called a train. Some roller coasters, notably wild mouse roller coasters, run with single cars.

With all the focus always on new Endodontic file systems, no matter which system you use they all have one goal and that is to reach the apex. Where is the apex? In this very Practical webinar, I want to guide you in working more accurately to the right determent working length. How to avoid over prepping root canals and cause iatrogenic bleeding. We will look at different obturation methods and I will try and guide you on how to avoid nasty overfills be it Single cone, Guttacore, or Vertical Condensation.

Dr Heinrich Dippenaar
Dr Heinrich Dippenaar, finished his Degree in Dentistry (B.Ch.D) at the University of Stellenbosch in 2002. He was awarded the FX Prins Award for the Best Student in Clinical Dentistry. After his community service year, Dr Dippenaar started a private practice in his hometown, Welkom, in 2003. He served on the SADA board of the Free State Branch from 2004 to 2008 and he became President in 2008. Dr Dippenaar completed a postgraduate diploma in Endodontics at the University of Pretoria in 2011.
He received training at the Dentsply Maillefer factory in Switzerland in 2012 and is a certified trainer on Dentsply Maillefer products. Dr Dippenaar has co-authored an article with Prof P. van der Vyver on Irrigation in Endodontics that was published in Endodontic Practice US January 2015.He attended a workshop in 2017 at Dentsply-Sirona Factory in Bensheim Germany on SiCAT and Surgical Guides and on 3D Endo Software.2017 Attended a workshop on CBCT Examination at the University of Hamburg. 2017 Completed a Year Implant sertificate at Pretoria University 2019 Relocated his practice to Plettenberg Bay He has a special interest in Endodontics.
