Terni is known as the steel city of Italy. Their football club, Ternana Calcio, have gone on incredible run this season. Under the management of Cristiano Lucarelli, Ternana have secured qualification to Serie B, in potentially record breaking style.
But the real story comes off the pitch. The history of their supporters, the Freak Brothers, is one that is fundamentally influential within the European Ultras scene. This is demonstrated by their friendships with St. Pauli and Atalanta, a connection supported by club legend Riccardo Zampagna.
Their new President, Stefano Bandecchi, who initially had a turbulent start at the club, has now built on the club's ethos, buying the rights to their matches, providing free access to anyone from around the world to watch Ternana.
This is truly a wonderful story of how within a club; players, management, supporters can all work in line to achieve unprecedented success.

Terni is a city in the southern portion of the region of Umbria in central Italy. The city is the capital of the province of Terni, located in the plain of the Nera river. It is 104 kilometers northeast of Rome. It was founded as an Ancient Roman town.
Terni Cathedral (Duomo, Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta) (17th century). Built over one of the most ancient Christian edifices of the city, it has today Baroque lines. In the interior is one organ designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The belfry is from the 18th century. The façade has two medieval gates: one of them has the profile of a sabot once used to measure the citizen's shoes in order to ensure that they did not exceed a fixed limit of decency.

History
The city was founded around the 7th century BC by the Umbrians, in a territory inhabited (as testified by archaeological excavations of several necropolises) as early as the Bronze Age. In the 3rd century BC it was conquered by the Romans and soon became an important municipium lying on the Via Flaminia. The Roman name was Interamna, meaning "in between two rivers". During the Roman Empire the city was enriched with several buildings, including aqueducts, walls, an amphitheater, a theater, temples and bridges.

Terni is a city in the southern portion of the Region of Umbria in central Italy. The city is the capital of the province of Terni, located in the plain of the Nera river. It is 104 kilometres (65 miles) northeast of Rome.
Originally founded as an Ancient Roman town, the city has changed across the centuries. During the 19th-century, steel mills were introduced and led the city to have a role in the second industrial revolution in Italy. Because of its industrial importance. the city was heavily bombed during World War II by the Allies. It still remains an industrial hub, and has been nicknamed "The Steel City" and the "Italian Manchester".
Terni also advertises itself as a "City of Lovers", as its patron saint, Saint Valentine, was born and became a bishop here and the remains are preserved in the basilica-sanctuary in his honor.

History
The city was founded around the 7th century BC by the Umbrians, in a territory inhabited (as testified by archaeological excavations of several necropolises) as early as the Bronze Age. In the 3rd century BC it was conquered by the Romans and soon became an important municipium lying on the Via Flaminia. The Roman name was Interamna, meaning "in between two rivers". During the Roman Empire the city was enriched with several buildings, including aqueducts, walls, an amphitheater, a theater, temples and bridges.
