Follicle-stimulating hormone (#FSH) is a #hormone that plays an important role in the reproductive system. In men, it’s responsible for controlling the production of sperm whereas, for women, it helps to control the #menstrual cycle and regulate the growth of eggs in the #ovaries. FSH or Follicle Stimulating Hormone is a hormone which is usually measured in the blood in the 2nd or the 3rd day of the cycle. The normal levels of FSH are supposed to be 10 or maximum 12 IU per ml. however in women with reduced ovarian reserve and women beyond the age of 35 or 40 there can be significant elevation in the FSH levels. High FSH levels indicates that the follicular numbers recruited for that particular cycle is less and that is an indicator for reduced response to ovulation response and reduced pregnancy rate or that particular month. it is observed that the FSH level can be different in every cycle in a woman is different and these levels of FSH and LH are different in every cycle. The levels of FSH less than 10 indicates that there is reduction in the ovarian reserve and when the FSH level is more than 40, it indicates that there has been a transition to menopause. It has been observed that in women who are closer to menopause and in women with significantly low ovarian reserve, there is a huge intercycle variation of the FSH levels. In 1 month the FSH level will be 3 or 4 and the very next month, the FSH can go upto 15 or 16. We usually measure the FSH level on the 2nd day of the cycle and ensure that it is less than 14 before we start ovulation indication for pregnancy. The question can one try for pregnancy with high FSH level is very difficult to answer because there have been reported pregnancies and healthy children being born, even with FSH levels being as high as 25 and at the same time, there cannot be a pregnancy achieved, as the FSH assumes 5 and 6. So it is difficult to predict if FSH is the only predictor for pregnancy to happen. However it is one of the markers for ovarian reserve and the response to ovulation indication for a particular month.

FSH is follicle stimulating hormone which is produced from the brain and it acts on the ovaries for the egg development to initiate. So this hormone level should be assessed on the second day or third day of the menstrual cycle. In a certain subset of women the FSH hormone level is low. That means the hormone production from the brain is low. These women usually have in conjunction called as leutinising hormone. If both the FS and LH are low that means that the woman is having hypogonnadotropic hypogonadism. So this is definitely a treatable condition, wherein we have to supplement with the hormones exogenously that women can produce the egg and she can become pregnant.

Follicle-stimulating hormone
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is a gonadotropin, a glycoprotein polypeptide hormone. FSH is synthesized and secreted by the gonadotropic cells of the anterior pituitary gland, and regulates the development, growth, pubertal maturation, and reproductive processes of the body. FSH and luteinizing hormone (LH) work together in the reproductive system.
Structure
FSH is a 35.5 kDa glycoprotein heterodimer, consisting of two polypeptide units, alpha and beta. Its structure is similar to those of luteinizing hormone (LH), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). The alpha subunits of the glycoproteins LH, FSH, TSH, and hCG are identical and consist of about 96 amino acids, while the beta subunits vary. Both subunits are required for biological activity. FSH has a beta subunit of 111 amino acids (FSH β), which confers its specific biologic action, and is responsible for interaction with the follicle-stimulating hormone receptor. The sugar portion of the hormone is covalently bonded to asparagine, and is composed of N-acetylgalactosamine, mannose, N-acetylglucosamine, galactose, and sialic acid.

Flash Airlines Flight 604 was a charter flight operated by Egyptian charter company Flash Airlines. On 3 January 2004, the Boeing 737-300 crashed into the Red Sea shortly after takeoff from Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport, killing all 135 passengers, most of them French tourists, and all 13 crew members. Flight 604's death toll was the highest of any aviation accident in Egypt until Metrojet Flight 9268 crashed more than ten years later. It remains the deadliest accident involving a Boeing 737-300, and the deadliest involving the Boeing 737 classic series.
History of the flight
The aircraft, a Boeing 737-3Q8, had originally been delivered to TACA Airlines in 1992. Other operators included Color Air, Egypt-based Mediterranean Airlines, and the prior corporate identity of Flash Airlines, Heliopolis Airlines.

FSH or Follicle Stimulating Hormone is a hormone which is usually measured in the blood in the 2nd or the 3rd day of the cycle. The normal levels of FSH are supposed to be 10 or maximum 12 IU per ml. however in women with reduced ovarian reserve and women beyond the age of 35 or 40 there can be significant elevation in the FSH levels. High FSH levels indicates that the follicular numbers recruited for that particular cycle is less and that is an indicator for reduced response to ovulation response and reduced pregnancy rate or that particular month. it is observed that the FSH level can be different in every cycle in a woman is different and these levels of FSH and LH are different in every cycle. The levels of FSH less than 10 indicates that there is reduction in the ovarian reserve and when the FSH level is more than 40, it indicates that there has been a transition to menopause. It has been observed that in women who are closer to menopause and in women with significantly low ovarian reserve, there is a huge intercycle variation of the FSH levels. In 1 month the FSH level will be 3 or 4 and the very next month, the FSH can go upto 15 or 16. We usually measure the FSH level on the 2nd day of the cycle and ensure that it is less than 14 before we start ovulation indication for pregnancy. The question can one try for pregnancy with high FSH level is very difficult to answer because there have been reported pregnancies and healthy children being born, even with FSH levels being as high as 25 and at the same time, there cannot be a pregnancy achieved, as the FSH assumes 5 and 6. So it is difficult to predict if FSH is the only predictor for pregnancy to happen. However it is one of the markers for ovarian reserve and the response to ovulation indication for a particular month.

That means the hormone production from the brain is low. These women usually have in conjunction called as leutinising hormone. If both the FS and LH are low that means that the woman is having hypogonnadotropic hypogonadism. So this is definitely a treatable condition, wherein we have to supplement with the hormones exogenously that women can produce the egg and she can become pregnant.

FSH or Follicle Stimulating Hormone is a hormone which is usually measured in the blood in the 2nd or the 3rd day of the cycle. The normal levels of FSH are supposed to be 10 or maximum 12 IU per ml. however in women with reduced ovarian reserve and women beyond the age of 35 or 40 there can be significant elevation in the FSH levels. High FSH levels indicates that the follicular numbers recruited for that particular cycle is less and that is an indicator for reduced response to ovulation response and reduced pregnancy rate or that particular month. it is observed that the FSH level can be different in every cycle in a woman is different and these levels of FSH and LH are different in every cycle. The levels of FSH less than 10 indicates that there is reduction in the ovarian reserve and when the FSH level is more than 40, it indicates that there has been a transition to menopause. It has been observed that in women who are closer to menopause and in women with significantly low ovarian reserve, there is a huge intercycle variation of the FSH levels. In 1 month the FSH level will be 3 or 4 and the very next month, the FSH can go upto 15 or 16. We usually measure the FSH level on the 2nd day of the cycle and ensure that it is less than 14 before we start ovulation indication for pregnancy. The question can one try for pregnancy with high FSH level is very difficult to answer because there have been reported pregnancies and healthy children being born, even with FSH levels being as high as 25 and at the same time, there cannot be a pregnancy achieved, as the FSH assumes 5 and 6. So it is difficult to predict if FSH is the only predictor for pregnancy to happen. However it is one of the markers for ovarian reserve and the response to ovulation indication for a particular month.

FSH is follicle stimulating hormone which is produced from the brain and it acts on the ovaries for the egg development to initiate. So this hormone level should be assessed on the second day or third day of the menstrual cycle. In a certain subset of women the FSH hormone level is low. That means the hormone production from the brain is low. These women usually have in conjunction called as leutinising hormone. If both the FS and LH are low that means that the woman is having hypogonnadotropic hypogonadism. So this is definitely a treatable condition, wherein we have to supplement with the hormones exogenously that women can produce the egg and she can become pregnant.
