Dornoch (/ˈdɔːrnɒx/; Scottish Gaelic: Dòrnach pronounced [ˈt̪ɔːrˠn̪ˠəx]; Scots: Dornach) is a town and seaside resort, and former Royal burgh in the Highlands of Scotland. It lies on the north shore of the Dornoch Firth, near to where it opens into the Moray Firth to the east. The town is within the Highland local government council area, and within the county of Sutherland.
The town is near the A9 road, to which it is linked by the A949 and the B9168.
The town also has a grass air strip suitable for small aircraft and helicopters.
The name 'Dornoch' is derived from the Gaelic for 'pebbly place', suggesting that the area contained pebbles the size of a fist (dorn) which could therefore be used as weapons. Dornoch has the thirteenth-century Dornoch Cathedral, the Old Town Jail, and the previous Bishop's Palace which is now the well-known hotel, Dornoch Castle and a notable golf course, the Royal Dornoch Golf Club, named the 5th best golf course outside the United States in 2005 by Golf Digest magazine. It is also notable as the last place a witch was burnt in Scotland. Her name was Janet Horne; she was tried and condemned to death in 1727. There is a stone, the Witch's Stone, commemorating her death, inscribed with the year 1722. Legendary golf course designer Donald Ross began his career as a greenkeeper on the Royal Dornoch links. The golf course is next to the award winning blue flag beach.
Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.
As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.
The charity was founded, as the Society for the Prevention and Relief of Cancer, in 1911 by Douglas Macmillan following the death of his father from the disease. In 1924 the name was changed to the National Society for Cancer Relief, which it retained until 1989 when it was changed to Cancer Relief Macmillan Fund, later changed again to Macmillan Cancer Relief. From 5 April 2006 Macmillan Cancer Relief became known as Macmillan Cancer Support as this more accurately reflects its role in supporting people living with cancer. It has adopted the principles of being a "source of support" and a "force for change".

This is a video of the Ramisco Maki Maki Rocking Horse performing Another Way on a beach in Dornoch, Scotland during a mini sand storm as part of the Here, There and Over There Tour. This spontaneous video gig was filmed by a video camera strategically placed next to a rock on February 27th, 2012. I am that video camera. Unfortunately due to the sand storm, the audio is very badly distorted, there are no sound checks at spontaneous video gigs. The Horse lives at ramiscomakimaki.com

We were close friends then and now. (even though we tested the limits of that friendship a few times) Crazy things happened from the beginning all the way throughout our trip but we made it and have great memories! Thanks to my son, Todd for making this movie so we can always relive some of those experiences. BTW, the golf was great too. Watch it to the end for a short out take. We left our St. Andrews apartment at 3:00 in the morning for Royal Dornoch, van broke down about half way and was delayed 2 hours, then continued the trip. Played 18 at Dornoch, left for Aberdeen. We had driven over 350 miles this day (seemed like 500) and were on some backroad almost to Aberdeen for the night. Our plans were to play Cruden Bay the next morning. (in case you don't know, there are approx...
I need your touch
I need your love
More than the air I breath
I need you
I want to be more like you
Change me
I long to know your heart
Reveal it to me
And how could I, live a day
Without you guiding me
How could I live a day
Without you next to me
You're everything to me
You're everything to me Lord
You're everything to me
You're everything to me Lord
I need to hear you
Speak to me
When all is lost and
Hope is gone
You're all I seek
pre-chorus
chorus
I need to hear you
