The M1 Garand (officially designated as U. S. rifle, caliber .30, M1, later simply called Rifle, Caliber .30, M1, also called US Rifle, Cal. .30, M1) is a semi-automatic rifle chambered for the .30-06 Springfield rifle cartridge, used by the United States Army from 1936 to 1957. The rifle was named after its designer John Garand. It was the first standard-issue semi-automatic military rifle. Called "the greatest battle implement ever devised" by General George S. Patton, the Garand officially replaced the bolt-action M1903 Springfield as the standard service rifle of the United States Armed Forces in 1936 and was subsequently replaced by the selective-fire M14, starting in 1957. During World War II, the M1 gave U.S. forces a distinct advantage in firefights against their Axis enemies, as their standard-issue rifles were more effective than the Axis' slower-firing bolt-action rifles. The M1 continued to be used in large numbers until 1963 and to a lesser degree until 1976. Like its predecessor, the M1 originated from the Springfield Armory. Today, the M1 remains in use for drill purposes.
Call of Duty is a first-person shooter video game franchise. The series began on Microsoft Windows, and later expanded to consoles and handhelds. Several spin-off games have been released. The earlier games in the series are set primarily in World War II, including Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 3. Beginning with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which is set in modern times, the series has shifted focus away from World War II. Modern Warfare, released November 2007, was followed by World at War and Modern Warfare 2. Black Ops, released November 2010, takes place in the Cold War, while Modern Warfare 3, released November 2011, takes place in a near-future setting. Black Ops II, released November 2012, takes place mainly in the year 2025. Call of Duty: Ghosts was released in November 2013. In May 2014, Advanced Warfare was announced. On April 9, 2015, Treyarch announced Black Ops III.
The Call of Duty games are published and owned by Activision. While Infinity Ward is still a developer, Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games also develop several of the titles with the release of the studios' games alternating with each other. Some games have been developed by Gray Matter Interactive, Nokia, Exakt Entertainment, Spark Unlimited, Amaze Entertainment, n-Space, Aspyr, Rebellion Developments, Ideaworks Game Studio, and nStigate Games. The games use a variety of engines, including the id Tech 3, the Treyarch NGL, and the IW engine.
The M1 carbine (formally the United States Carbine, Caliber .30, M1) is a lightweight .30 caliber semi-automatic carbine that became a standard firearm for the U.S. military during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, and was produced in several variants. Easy to use, it was widely used by U.S. and foreign military, paramilitary and police forces, and has also been a popular civilian firearm.
In selective-fire versions capable of fully automatic firing, the carbine is designated the M2 carbine. The M3 carbine was an M1 or M2 with an active infrared scope system. Unlike conventional carbines, which are generally shorter-barreled versions of a longer parent rifle (like the earlier .30-40 U.S. Krag rifle and carbine and the later M16 rifle and M4 carbine), the M1 carbine fires a different cartridge and has only one part, a short buttplate screw, in common with the M1 rifle.

Dad served in the 77th infantry division during WWII. Later in life he taught me how to operate the M1 Garand rifle. Now I will share a few tricks with you. There are 3 ways to load it, from 1 round to as many as 8. Also I add a reloaders trick to protect my brass and make the gun a bolt action. Check out my other gun videos. Thanks for watching! Edit, Many questions on this: I used an A-ZOOM snap cap to show loading of a single round. When I show the other ways, I specially loaded 30-06 rounds WITHOUT powder or primer. I'm a re-loader so I rarely purchase ammunition. Sorry not to point that out in the video.

The M1 Garand is a truly magnificent rifle that became a very potent symbol for a generation of American fighting men. Loaded with 8 round en-bloc clips, the M1 semi-automatic rifle showed the world that entire armies could be armed effectively with semi-automatic firepower. In this run and gun, we put the M1 to the test! Many THANKS to: Ventura Munitions: http://bit.ly/1LKxNRP Please Support Them! One of the first InRange videos included a mud test on an M1A (M14) in a modified Troy stock. Ever since the release of that controversial video we've been asked to do something similar with an M1 Garand - in the standard stock. This video is part of a series of M1 Garand tests we're going to do, so please subscribe and watch for the rest! Here we go... https://www.patreon.com/InRangeTV?ty=h
My great grandpa reunited with the mighty Garand after 72 years. After he was wounded on August 14th of 1944 in Dinard, France he was withdrawn from the war and that was the last time he held one. My grandpa is a recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge among others. Please excuse the talking in the background as they were not aware I was recording the video. 5/20/2017: It has been over a year since the original posting and I would like to include all information right here. My grandfather passed on December 19th, 2016. ANY ASININE, RUDE, OR DISRESPECTFUL COMMENTS WILL BE DELETED. The U.S. Army Rangers get the pick of pinpoint rapid fire weapons for there missions. The M1 Garand and M1 Carbine were Ranger favorites in two major conflicts. The carbine was only 35 inches long and weighed a mere 5 pounds. The combination of accuracy, compact size and high rate of fire seem to make it the ultimate Ranger weapon. But the pistol caliber lacked stopping power. The M1 Carbine was actually designed to replace the pistol offering the shooter greater accuracy. The M1 Carbine's bigger brother was the M1 Garand. It was the standard infantry weapon in World War II and Korea. Five and a half million were produced in four decades of service. It's combination of accuracy, semi-automatic fire and rifle caliber made it the number one Ranger weapon. The adoption of John Garand's semi-...

CoD WW2 Criticisms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCoaAxcybX8 The M1A1 and M1 Garand are considered some of the worst weapons in Call of Duty WWII. At best, the community views them as outclassed. However, I think they just aren't used on the correct maps. The M1 series weapons are fantastic in War mode and struggle on normal maps.
