Pavo20 PRO is badass (coming from someone starting out with pavo20), i wanted the smallest drone that makes sense carrying the 03 air unit Pavo20 PRO is badass (coming from someone starting out with pavo20), i wanted the smallest drone that makes sense carrying the 03 air unit
Mini Quad

I started FPV with the pavo20, because i wanted the smallest drone that made sense carrying the 03 air unit (i liked how it was 3cell). Recently i tried the new pavo20 PRO and holy shit i did not think it would be much different but it HAULS ASS compared to original pavo20. It is just slightly bigger, but i guess the bigger motors and 3 blades make a huge difference.

It's like a tiny 150g indestructible whoop you can freestyle with, that has really cool looking bright LEDs. I noticed about 20-30% more power/speed compared to my pavo20 that i have been flying for 7 months.... I have tried a few drones this size and i do not think something exists that is this small/light/whoop that has this much power.

My buddy let me try it out and i was sold, i purchased my own after flying it xD ... if you are interested he has a short video review here: https://youtu.be/7JwfBHpmH-E?si=BPTnXRMGs0DB4vXr (i'm the guy trying it out)

Do you know of any other super light whoop freestyle drones for the 03?

Think I'm getting close to getting a real drone Think I'm getting close to getting a real drone

I have about 34 hours total in sims (mainly FPV Logic) and feel like im starting to get a lot more comfortable. I feel as though I can get a drone and start flying without instantly messing the entire thing up. Any thoughts for improvement are welcome, thank you! (Ignore the ending, got a lil buzzed and didn't react fast enough lol)

Suggestions for sub-250 2S Analog Toothpick Suggestions for sub-250 2S Analog Toothpick

Hey, I have a 2-3S Beta75X that flies like ass and a 5" 4S build (AUW ~750g) that is really fun to fly but much harder to find spots for.

I'd like to get something smaller and more quiet that can do freestyle while ideally still being able to use a bunch of the 2S 450mAh packs I have lying around but most PNP toothpicks I've seen are either 1S, 3S or 4S. Seeing the performance of a lot of the recent 1S BNFs, how come?

I don't mind building and can design and print my own TPU parts so I could even transfer the cam and VTX from the Beta75X but I'd like to go with a proven drivetrain and frame combo.

ESC soldering. I just don't get it ESC soldering. I just don't get it

Tried to solder this for 2 hours. This is the best I 've done, and it's not good as you can see. I don't understand how to do it properly. It looks easy on tutorials, but impossible for my stupid hands
My specs: this iron, Cynel-1 flux, 60/40 solder, 400 C when tinning the pad/wire, 425-450 C when trying to connect them
The issues:

  • Solder doesn't flow. I noticed it when tinning the pad. I can't "drown" the wire into solder, I can't "slip" the solder into the wire. It solidifies too fast, looks like everything else just takes all the heat except of the pad. Adding more flux doesn't help

  • I noticed drops in the temperature of the iron when I'm soldering. I suspect this is the root of the issue above, but I don't know how to prevent it. I tried change the settings, disabled "smart temperature". Didn't help

Also I don't know whether ESC is still alive at all... I mean, I've been trying for 2 hours already, desoldering and soldering again. Maybe it's just a piece of metal after all sufferings. How can I tell?
