#Packers CB Jaire Alexander did not practice today, and HC Matt LaFleur stated “Yeah, that’s a concern, for sure” when asked about his status. Alexander is in danger of missing Sundays matchup against the #Vikings.

Anyone finding it hard to talk about the Vikings this year? Anyone finding it hard to talk about the Vikings this year?
Who Cares

Most other years, we have a lot of discussion going on about what we need to fix, what looked good and what looks bad and concerns for our future and the upcoming game.

This year, we just look so goddam good, I literally don't have anything to really say. All I am doing is waiting for the next game to see if we are as dominant as the previous games.

It's such a weird space to be in and I wonder if other people are feeling the same?

Even on KFAN, they seem to be out of things to talk about and it just feels weird.

Weird question - Looking for a Vikings friend. Weird question - Looking for a Vikings friend.

Essentially I am looking for a friend to text and nerd out about the Vikings. I have plenty of friends who love football, we are fantasy footballers big time. But this year in particular I am really missing somebody to chat with, about the Vikings specifically. A few things about myself; 36f, from Canada, I am a newer Vikings fan (2015). Hoping to make it down to a game this year or next year. And I can't believe we are 3-0 this year. SKOL.

The Flores Defense -- Shutting Down the Run to Rush the Passer The Flores Defense -- Shutting Down the Run to Rush the Passer

Kind of Defense 101.

Mike Zimmer used to be really good at this. Essentially, shut down the run, forcing a team into 3rd and long, a predictable passing down that allows the pass rushers to pin their ears back.

Currently, the Vikings are 2nd in the NFL by allowing just 214 rushing yards against and an average of 3.6 yards per carry. That reality directly feeds into their 16 sacks, which is sitting at 1st in the NFL.

Green Bay is getting some excellent production on the ground from their RB tandem (Jacobs & Wilson). Willis can move and even Jayden Reed had gotten in on the action. Shut down that part of the Packers' attack and let the pass rushers do their thing. Otherwise, could be a difficult offense to slow down.

Driving up to Green Bay for the first time from Chicago (lifetime Vikes fan raised in FL) for the Vikes game (just for the day) anything I should make sure not to miss? Pretty much as the title says. Born and raised Vikes fan from FL living in Chicago now. Just bought some last minute tickets and not sure what game days are like up there? Any bars/restaurants I should go to over there? I don’t know anyone in the area and don’t really have a tailgate so I’m not sure that’s much of an option. Probably gonna leave Chicago to drive up at 4/5am. Anything I should expect?

Carrying on the dream Carrying on the dream
Discussion

Hey all! I recently started to pay more attention to football and the Vikings even more so. The reason for this is because of my dad, Born in and raised in New jersey in the 60s-80s he became a die hard vikings fan because he didn’t want to root for the same team as everyone else (jets) and he liked the helmets as a kid.

Long story short my dad raised me basically on his own. His one wish before he died was to watch the vikings win a super bowl, i wish i knew as a kid to watch and pay attention to the games more cause i never appreciated the game. he passed in 2022 right before the super bowl. It took me a long time to swallow that he was gone, especially because i just had my first child. so the following year i struggled to watch football or the vikings cause it reminded me of all the time i wasted not watching with him and not having someone to ask questions.

However before the start of this season, I realized that football was a way for me to feel like dad was still here(thank you therapy). With how this season has been going i always imagine him being right there beside me cheering and going crazy saying that this is the year (he said this every year). So i have been watching every game live and it does sometimes make we wish i would’ve watched more with him but i can’t change that so i’ll go on rooting my heart out and giving my wife and kids near heart attacks when i jump up shouting at a insane play, even my boys ( both under 3) start to clap and yell.

Anyways just wanted this off my chest and let someone know that this team means a lot to me and i will carry on the dream of witnessing a super bowl win from the vikings! (sorry for the long post)

Vikings-Packers: Strap in for latest in Justin Jefferson, Jaire Alexander rivalry Vikings-Packers: Strap in for latest in Justin Jefferson, Jaire Alexander rivalry

That matchup has plenty of hype. Here’s the tale of the tape:

  • Draft: Alexander first round (No. 18 overall), 2018; Jefferson first round (No. 22 overall), 2020.

  • Height/weight: Alexander 5-10, 196; Jefferson 6-1, 195.

  • Combine 40-yard dash: Alexander 4.38 seconds, Jefferson 4.33 seconds.

  • Combine vertical jump: Alexander 35 inches; Jefferson 37.5 inches.

  • Wingspan: Alexander 74.75 inches; Jefferson 78 inches.

  • NFL games played, including postseason: Alexander 81; Jefferson 64.

Justin Jefferson hasn't had much success against Jaire Alexander. Jefferson has only one catch for 12 yards, with five total targets.
