NYPD chase a man for fare evasion, tase him, become “aware of a knife” and then started blasting, hitting a cop, and two bystanders (one in the head) before getting this guy. Backtracking with “well this guy has done xyz before”, the cops didn’t know that. They frantically looked him up so they could justify a mass shooting of New Yorkers.
They drew guns over skipping the fare. They fired at anything that moved when they thought he had a knife. No confirmation that he even did have a knife.
Appalling.
The NYPD shot four people because a man, allegedly armed with a knife, didn’t pay a $2.90 subway fare. And it’s worth re-emphasizing that one of the innocent bystanders they shot is in critical condition because he was accidentally shot in the head by New York’s finest.
Never ever believe the police’s initial version of events. It’s pure copaganda.
its probable my asks abt it were eaten since i dont think u saw them. but like. a big unanswered question is how the hell does the council visit ran in his dreams? the earring has been given some odd significance throughout the fic (or at least 2 me) cause this could be coincidental but ran always fiddles with it after thinking about the council/terminus/mission. so my theory is that its the way the council visits him in his dreams or is related to the council somehow. idk tho i could be v wrong

i could write a whole essay abt this but i think its so interesting the way ran underestimates and misunderstands jackie--i thought about this a lot before chapter 6 dropped, and just. the amount of scenes where its clear (at least to me) what jackie is feeling and why, but ran misconstrues it bcuz he didnt think jackie was the sort of person who would feel complex and deeper emotions past the surface level he shows the world. & of course him thinking jackie was oblivious to the murder attempts

and honestly jackie does a bit of hiding as well— like, not GOOD hiding, but just enough to fool ran, whos just bad enough at emotions to fall for it.
sort of because in the original tales episode cc!tubbo was just chillin being nervous and yet excited, so therefore jackie is nervous and excited, and that immediately pegs him as a sort of carefree or naive or ditzy guy, but. he WON the CHALLENGE, plus he briefly mentioned a past of being a hired killer, so there’s obviously gotta be something more there
so a lot of ran’s misconceptions just come from me trying to bend canon jackie into what i want by framing how he acts in “the pit” as a nervous, surface level front
