NASA Releases 25 Jaw-Dropping New Images for the First Time
NASA has released 25 never-before-seen space images on the Chandra X-Ray Observatory's 25th birthday. They represent the wide range of objects that the telescope has observed over its quarter century of observations. X-rays are an especially penetrating type of light that reveals extremely hot objects and very energetic physical processes. The images range from supernova remnants, like Cassiopeia A, to star-formation regions like the Orion Nebula, to the region at the center of the Milky Way. This montage also contains objects beyond our own Galaxy including other galaxies and galaxy clusters.

NASA's Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover Landing Animations
Animations for media and public use. This reel depicts key events during entry, descent, and landing that will occur when NASA’s Perseverance rover lands on Mars February 18, 2021. In the span of about seven minutes, the spacecraft slows down from about 12,100 mph (19,500 kph) at the top of the Martian atmosphere to about 2 mph (3 kph) at touchdown in an area called Jezero Crater.
Perseverance will seek signs of ancient microbial life on Mars, collect and cache Martian rock and regolith (broken rock and dust), characterize the planet's geology and climate, and pave the way for human exploration of the Red Planet.

Astronauts stuck in space could be there until 2025, NASA says
The two astronauts who launched on a Boeing Starliner spaceship for a 10-day mission and remain stuck on the International Space Station, now may not be coming home until February 2025. NASA says it's weighing options for getting the astronauts back home, including having them return on a SpaceX capsule. NBC’s Tom Costello reports for TODAY.

There are 16 sunrises and sunsets every day. Check them out!
The dashboard on the bottom contains the following information:
1. BOTTOM, FAR LEFT BOX --------------------
Global flight path of the ISS with real-time lightning strikes. The flight path of the ISS shows where the ISS is right now, its path 90 minutes ago (yellow line), and 90 minutes ahead (white line). Due to the Station's orbit, it appears to travel from west to east over our planet, and due to Earth's own rotation, the Space Station moves 2200 km to the west on each orbit. If you time it right, you can see the International Space Station on a clear night with your own eyes, just by looking up. Any lightning that strikes the ground will appear on this map in real-time. This is useful for seeing if the ISS will be passing over any lightning storms while on the night side of earth.
2. BOTTOM, LEFT OF CENTER BOX ------------------
A zoomed-in map showing the current location of the ISS and current cloud conditions.
3. BOTTOM, CENTER BOX -----------------
The space station's current position over the earth (state/province and country) or the name of the body of water, the current time and date, the elevation and speed of the station, and the condition of the video transmission: Live Now (red box) or Offline (blue box). if the live transmission is offline, archived video or a simulation of where the space station is will appear in the main window. Additional data related to the country below will be displayed in this area - including, capital city, population statistics, age demographics, energy sources etc. Data source: https://ourworldindata.org/
4. BOTTOM, RIGHT BOX -------------------
If the live stream is running and it is daytime, this box will show the secondary camera aboard the ISS. The camera will either be a wide-angle view of earth and space with parts of the space station in the foreground or it will show the astronauts working inside of the space station. At night, the view of earth from the sunny side of the planet captured 46 minutes ago is shown. When the live feed is offline, Solar flares, solar storms, and sunspots can be spotted from the latest time-lapse videos of the surface of our sun. These images are captured by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory and are updated every hour.
------------------
Note: Due to the delay in getting the camera feeds, the camera feeds and the maps might be out of sync by up to 15 seconds.
This is an ISS live space view from the NASA External HD live cameras currently mounted on the outside of the ISS. Thank you https://www.nasa.gov for providing this stream! More info can be found on our website here: https://afar.tv/streams/iss_spacestation/

FÃ?SICO DA NASA VAI MOSTRAR A PROVA Na notÃcia de hoje: A ideia de que podemos estar vivendo em uma simulação de computador tem fascinado filósofos, cientistas e o público em geral há décadas.
