Non (comics)

Non is a fictional villain appearing in the DC Comics universe. An enemy of Superman, he is an associate of General Zod. He first appeared in the 1978 film Superman: The Movie, where he was portrayed by actor/former boxer Jack O'Halloran (who reprised the role in the 1980 sequel Superman II). Almost three decades later, the character made his comic book debut in Action Comics #845 (January 2007).

Non initially appeared in the first two Superman films, Superman: The Movie and Superman II.

Superman

At the beginning of Superman, Non is one of the three Kryptonian criminals, along with General Zod and Ursa, on trial for their attempted coup against the Kryptonian government. With Jor-El as their prosecutor, the three are found guilty and sentenced to be imprisoned in the Phantom Zone. They are cast into the Phantom Zone portal shortly before the planet Krypton is destroyed. Non, lacking the ability to speak, communicates only through occasional whines and moans as well as his penchant for wanton violence. Non's name is mentioned twice during the film Superman II, once in the beginning by the unseen prosecutor during the trial recap and once by Ursa ("he's caged Non"); Jor-El's only reference to him is to proclaim that he is "a mindless aberration, whose only means of expression are wanton violence and destruction."

Airstryke

Airstryke is a villain in the DC Universe.

Within the context of the stories, William Kavanagh was given the ability to transform into a pterodactyl/man hybrid by a weapons company Meta/Tech and took the name Airstryke. Count Viper took advantage of these new abilities and used Airstryke to distract Hawkman while Viper tried to take command of the Justice League and thus the world. Airstryke and Viper were soon defeated and Airstryke was sent to Belle Reve Prison. He remained here until he was freed by Neron and was given the chance to sell his soul along with numerous other villains. Airstryke chose not to sell his soul and continued his life of crime. Eventually, Airstryke was returned to prison where he became a victim of Joker's Joker gas. Again, he was defeated and returned to prison. This time he was sent to the Slab. During his stay, Brother Blood attempted to break all the villains out of the prison so they could assist him on his mission. Airstryke was the first to question Blood on his plan. Brother Blood then shot and killed Airstryke for his hubris.

Stop! (Against Me! song)

"Stop!" is a single by punk group Against Me!. It is the third single from their album New Wave. The video game, Rock Band, features this song as downloadable content.

The single was released on CD and as a limited edition 7" vinyl single, 4500 on black vinyl and 500 on yellow vinyl.

Music video

Two music videos were produced for this song. The first music video was made by Justin Staggs and featured the band smashing up an old TV (which actually shows the band performing the song on a program similar to a late night talk show) as if telling it to stop. A second music video was created and directed by Marc Klasfeld. Unlike the previous video, which was partially comical, this video is more stern, bringing up political and social issues in America. In the video, the band is performing the song in a closed room in front of a voting booth. The video also shows other events occurring in the room, albeit with the absence of the band, such as two gay men being wedded, a homeless woman looking for food, a woman and a man arguing over abortion (the woman believes it should be legal while the man doesn't), and a man being arrested by a police officer, with the voting booth playing a vital role throughout all of the events (this video was created and broadcast near the 2008 election). The video ends with the voting booth bursting into flames.

Livø

Livø is a 320-hectare Danish island with approximately 10 year-round residents. The island is located in the Limfjord, about 20 minutes by boat from Roenbjerg in the middle of the Limfjord. It is midway between Nykøbing Mors, Løgstør, Fjerritslev and Thisted. Northeast of the island lies Løgstør Bredning while Livø Broads lies west and south of the island.

Geography

Livø has been a protected island since 1977. It is accessible by ferry daily between 1 April and 1 September. Dogs and motor vehicles are not permitted on the island. It is possible to walk around the entire island in one afternoon, which is about 10 km total distance. Livø is notable due to its natural beauty, especially at the central, shallow part of the island near Louisehøj and Louisedal, where a hilltop towers 43 meters above the sea. The island is a moraine, pushed up by ice from Løgstør Broads in the last Ice Age. On the cliffs overlooking the sea at the northwestern edge of the island, it is possible to see layers of material that were pushed together during the Ice Age, including jetties and steep clay slopes. The eastern and southern parts of the island are flat land with a wide beach ridge that continues south and ends in the protected Livø wildlife area, which is partly inaccessible to visitors. Herds of fallow deer live in this protected area, and the wildlife here are several generations old. The area is also designated as a seal sanctuary and seals breed here in July–August. The northern part of the island is covered with a forest where various types of trees grow, with a heath in the northernmost part. The northern part of the island is 1/3 organic farms, 1/3 woods and 1/3 heath, grasslands and salt marshes.
