Pablo Picasso
Pablo Ruiz y Picasso, also known as Pablo Picasso (/pɪˈkɑːsoʊ, -ˈkæsoʊ/;Spanish: [ˈpaβlo piˈkaso]; 25 October 1881 – 8 April 1973), was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, stage designer, poet and playwright who spent most of his adult life in France. As one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century, he is known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore. Among his most famous works are the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907), and Guernica (1937), a portrayal of the Bombing of Guernica by the German and Italian airforces at the behest of the Spanish nationalist government during the Spanish Civil War.
Picasso, Henri Matisse and Marcel Duchamp are regarded as the three artists who most defined the revolutionary developments in the plastic arts in the opening decades of the 20th century, responsible for significant developments in painting, sculpture, printmaking and ceramics.

Picasso (restaurant)
Picasso is a two Michelin star restaurant run by chef Julian Serrano in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The name is derived from the artist, Pablo Picasso and features the artist's paintings throughout the restaurant. The restaurant is known for its reinvention and interpretation of French and Spanish Cuisine. Today, the restaurant holds two Michelin stars, the AAA Five-Diamond Award, a 28/30 rating from the Zagat guide, the Wine Spectator Grand Award since 2001, and is considered to be one of the finest restaurants in the United States.

The cuisine of Picasso is French with Spanish influence on molecular gastronomy; the restaurant's founder Julian Serrano has attempted to redefine this style cuisine.

ABOUT OUR VIDEOS:
Comic Kids is a Miami-based non-profit that helps children in the community learn art through comics, cartoons and books. We create "Art History for Kids" videos as short educational videos that we use in our classes which also serve as resources for teachers and homeschoolers to help their children learn about art history. The goal of these videos is to increase children's art education by exposing them to art history at a young age and videos can be for lower up until high school children. Our videos will show between 20 - 50 photos of famous artists and their paintings, drawings and sculptures so that children can get a vast knowledge and overview of their styles and techniques. We also include information of the artist and their education including the art history movements which explains the importance of the art history timelines they were a part of. All of our videos include specific art terms such as Impressionism, Modernism, Modern Art, Abstract Art, Cubism, Pop Art, Surrealism etc. We keep the videos under five minutes so children may stay engaged as they learn about famous artists, art styles, art definitions, historical artists, art movements, painting techniques and modern art concepts. By releasing videos consistently, we help teachers build a consistent art history curriculum for kids in their classrooms!

Guernica is the most famous anti-war painting in history, and Picasso’s best-known work. It has gone from a piece that was created in protest at the horrific bombing of a small village in northern Spain, to an icon and a universal symbol of freedom from ALL wars. Picasso said, “We all know that Art is not truth. Art is a lie that makes us realize truth”, and like so much of Picasso’s work it can be difficult to decipher the ‘truth’ in the political, artistic and religious symbolism.
James Payne looks at some of the more acknowledged interpretations along with techniques, composition and artistic inspiration. Guernica is a masterpiece that always leaves the viewer with more than they brought to it, and here, Great Art Explained, traces the work from its underwhelming reception when first seen in 1937, through to its status over eighty years later as one of the most influential and iconic works of all time.

ABOUT OUR VIDEOS:
Comic Kids is a Miami-based non-profit that helps children in the community learn art through comics, cartoons and books. We create "Art History for Kids" videos as short educational videos that we use in our classes which also serve as resources for teachers and homeschoolers to help their children learn about art history. The goal of these videos is to increase children's art education by exposing them to art history at a young age and videos can be for lower up until high school children. Our videos will show between 20 - 50 photos of famous artists and their paintings, drawings and sculptures so that children can get a vast knowledge and overview of their styles and techniques. We also include information of the artist and their education including the art history movements which explains the importance of the art history timelines they were a part of. All of our videos include specific art terms such as Impressionism, Modernism, Modern Art, Abstract Art, Cubism, Pop Art, Surrealism etc. We keep the videos under five minutes so children may stay engaged as they learn about famous artists, art styles, art definitions, historical artists, art movements, painting techniques and modern art concepts. By releasing videos consistently, we help teachers build a consistent art history curriculum for kids in their classrooms!

Guernica is the most famous anti-war painting in history, and Picasso’s best-known work. It has gone from a piece that was created in protest at the horrific bombing of a small village in northern Spain, to an icon and a universal symbol of freedom from ALL wars. Picasso said, “We all know that Art is not truth. Art is a lie that makes us realize truth”, and like so much of Picasso’s work it can be difficult to decipher the ‘truth’ in the political, artistic and religious symbolism.
James Payne looks at some of the more acknowledged interpretations along with techniques, composition and artistic inspiration. Guernica is a masterpiece that always leaves the viewer with more than they brought to it, and here, Great Art Explained, traces the work from its underwhelming reception when first seen in 1937, through to its status over eighty years later as one of the most influential and iconic works of all time.

Pablo Ruiz y Picasso, also known as Pablo Picasso (/pɪˈkɑːsoʊ, -ˈkæsoʊ/;Spanish: [ˈpaβlo piˈkaso]; 25 October 1881 – 8 April 1973), was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, stage designer, poet and playwright who spent most of his adult life in France. As one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century, he is known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore. Among his most famous works are the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907), and Guernica (1937), a portrayal of the Bombing of Guernica by the German and Italian airforces at the behest of the Spanish nationalist government during the Spanish Civil War.
Picasso, Henri Matisse and Marcel Duchamp are regarded as the three artists who most defined the revolutionary developments in the plastic arts in the opening decades of the 20th century, responsible for significant developments in painting, sculpture, printmaking and ceramics.
